My Guitars are all dried out..

'Never paid much attention to this until now.
Relative Humidity is around 38% for a while.
The wood on my Acoustics is shrunken and the higher notes play flat because the Scale Length has changed.. Sheeit..

I noticed this last week. The neck relief on my main acoustic was bowed as fuck..
I broke out the Humidifier for the room and for the Sound Hole. The Neck snapped back pretty quick, but notes are still flat. It might take at least another week for the Top to expand again..

I'm averaging about 50-55% Humidity with Guitar in the Case.
I got a bunch of the crackhead Hygrometers and now have them in the Cases and in the room..

Humidity in my house will soon hit 8-10% and the highest it ever gets is 50% in the summer. I've never had issues other than a minor truss rod adjustment but all my guitars are electrics.

Holy shit, yes. Need humidifiers. Filling my humidifier is basically part of my morning routine. I keep that shit set to 60%.

Electrics really only get neck shift, but a high end Acoustic or Classical would be wreaked..
A real Classical doesn't have a Truss Rod.. It needs to be around 50%..

I'm learning this lesson. Never paid attention to it because I've been on Electrics for a long time. The Acoustics lived in their Cases. But now that I'm playing them, they are giving me tough love.
I'm about to buy a real expensive one (for me) Better to learn this now..

I'm in Ny near brooklyn and having the same issue right now. I got some fretboard shrinkage on a few of my electrics. Pain in the arse.

I live in San Francisco. My apartment came with a built-in Nest and it says humidity is 59%. I don't think it fluctuates much throughout the year. Maybe down to 40% every once in a while, but I think 59% is still fine for guitars?

I keep my basement 40-45 all year..... dehumidifier in summer and humidifier on winter.
