Yeah, if I'm not mistaken, that's how one of Fortin's 1-knob boost pedals is based; the TC Preamp, but with bass pre-set to 0. That's too clanky for my taste though.

As confirmed by Scott Ian himself (see post #28), the TC Distortion/Booster pedal had something to do with that as well, both in goosing up the input and for added tightness.

Big fan here as well. More so of Melissa (my first) than DBTO, although the latter had some absolute classics as well. Then there was the Nuns Have no fun EP... 🤘 "Corpse without a soul" is my fave track. And 'Tallica pussied out by not playing that intro solo on Garage Inc.
