In my 1st (death/thrash) band, our bassplayer would play/mock Gene and I would play Paul, pouting and all. While our buddies were only interested in Boltthrower, Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, etc., he and I would go nuts on classic Kiss. I did stay away from the toys on purpose...
Oh, and...
I got another song for ya then: Ratt - Givin' Yourself Away.
When I first heard it, I didn't know Desmond Child was involved, but when that pre-chorus dropped (at 0m37s), that's some signature material for him! I immediately looked it up afterwards and lo and behold, he was the (co-)songwriter...
From that same album;
Spillways...basically if you do a mash-up of Abba's "Money Money", some early Bon Jovi + the Pokemon theme song... :ROFLMAO:
By the way, I really like Ghost.
They had to grow on me, because when I first heard Opus when it was released, I always felt this lack of gain...
Why is that?
Also, how would you describe the base tone of the Mini Nightmare? More 'american' or 'british'? I heard some folks describe it as SLO-ish, but I'm not sure if that's accurate...Is it reasonably tight without a boost in high gain mode or so-so?
Nice score!
And cheers from his older ('83) brother. ;-)
That one is rocking a pair of Duncans; Custom/59 Hybrid bridge and Pearly Gates neck. I also put on a Tusq nut, Grover 18:1 tuners and Graphtech bridge saddles.
Had the Uber Metal for a while...like others said, pretty fun at home, but never used it live. I already tried that in my late teens with a Metalzone and a Peavey Bandit. :ROFLMAO:
Likewise I had good fun with a Zoom Driver 5000. One of the settings...I forgot Stack 2 or combo 112, was ultra...

Well, I tried it on different amps, with a power supply or a battery and also as the only pedal in the loop. The problem persists.
I basically get 1 repeat (regardless of where I set the Regen knob), at about 5% volume at most, and quite distorted (moreso than expected from an analog delay). I...
I'm experiencing a weird thing with my MXR Carbon Copy (probably over 10 years old)...
FWIW, I'm running it in the fx-loop of my EVH 5150III 50W, next to a modded Boss GE-7, TC Harmonizer, MXR Micro Flanger, Mooer Ensemble King (CE-2 chorus) and a Boss/Roland RE-20 Space Echo.
In the beginning...
Did you have the 35W or 50W and what was your reason for selling it?
I concur with stuff that others have voiced; if you want to sum up both amps in 1 word each, Fryette=clarity. Dmoll=thickness.
But where most Friedmans have this thick, gooey, polished thing going on, the Dmoll had less 'goo'...
Yeah, if I'm not mistaken, that's how one of Fortin's 1-knob boost pedals is based; the TC Preamp, but with bass pre-set to 0.
That's too clanky for my taste though.
As confirmed by Scott Ian himself (see post #28), the TC Distortion/Booster pedal had something to do with that as well, both in goosing up the input and for added tightness.
Big fan here as well. More so of Melissa (my first) than DBTO, although the latter had some absolute classics as well.
Then there was the Nuns Have no fun EP... 🤘 "Corpse without a soul" is my fave track. And 'Tallica pussied out by not playing that intro solo on Garage Inc.
