Actually had a friend recommend the Alt-8 as well so I might have to look closer at that one!
For a bridge I’m trying a Schaller 3D-6 this time
Overall I’m trying to make this guitar pretty minimalist; single hum, flatmount bridge, 22 fret, controls will solely be two toggles; one killswitch...
I’ve used the Aldrich in multiple guitars for years and get on well with them. Have a new build due later this year/early next that has only a single bridge humbucker. Was thinking maybe a Black Winter or even the Warren DeMartini RTM to change things up a little?
It’s great to have a wealth of...
Yeah, for whatever reason my strap lock decided to fail that day so for the first half of the set I was able to do my exciting pacing back and forth stage moves but mid-set had to play it safe and tone it down in case my guitar suddenly popped off again. 😂
Love Billy; great tones, tasteful playing and a killer rock and roll presence. I really enjoy the first few albums that have a very post-punk gothy feel.
Their post 2000 output is great as well and Beyond Good and Evil is one of the best hard rock albums of the past 20+ years.
My strap popped off mid-way through the song (despite strap locks) so I just kept my foot on my volume pedal to prop up the guitar and try not to look too conspicuous. 😅. Also forgot about that WOOOOOOO 2/3 of the way through the song.
The Rails or standard BW would potentially be going in a swamp ash-bodied (there’s that wood again), single hum, fixed bridge, 22 fret guitar tuned half a step down.
It’s often hard for me to get an accurate grasp from online demos/reviews because everything these days for heavier tones seems...
Glad to hear Rick is on it and you got your amp already!
To echo your statement in the earlier part of your post, wait times and non-responsiveness from builders/companies seem to be at an all-time high.
I have several companies that I’ve had long-standing good relationships with that I...
I’m good friends with Adam and have experience with pretty much the whole line. The Neutron at 18 watts gets plenty loud and is a great rock amp. Playing it wide open with hot pickups and the guitar volume rolled way back produces some of the best cleans I have heard, while opening everything up...
Any one know if Justin Shekoski is still at Suhr?
Dude has been helpful/friendly to me in the past but I have not been able to get ahold of him via his @Suhr email for well over a year.
The stage left guitarist uses a Peavey 3120 boosted with a Seymour Duncan 805. Stage right guitarist uses the Hiwatt SuperHi 50 straight into the head with no overdrives or boosts.
