to me the jb has a top end spike. The PB does not. If you like the demon but want it a little hotter then you’ll like it.
I also think the jb works great for rhythm and leads. So?
Did you kinda like the custom 5? I love the custom custom. That’s an alnico 2. The eq curve isn’t as scooped with just the right amount of output. It’s my go to pickup.
No. The PB has a nice eq curve. The RY can be bright as f-ck at times. Say in a guitar with ss frets. Hope you like twang brother lol.
The PB is a great pickup just not the hottest. More like a Frankenstein or weaker custom. All depends on what you like and want. I’m simply explaining my...
No not similar at all. I think the RY works best in dark sounding guitars(If you want a hotter pickup).
PB is a lower output but has good clarity and note definition.
To me a rebel yell has a good output, more on the clearer, brighter side. Works with a guitar that’s on the darker side. It doesn’t sound very good in a bright guitar.
The bare knuckles I like the best is the crawler myself
The perpetual burn, think less output than a Duncan custom. You gain more...
Zuul here. I use the key input also.
Best gate I’ve tried. I’ve built a clone also that’s just as good. I bet “griff10672” could make a batch of these if enough guys wanted one.
Yes I did a rosamp slo 50 right before his prices went up. I’ve used his transformers for a few Friedman clone. Including the clone of the original JEL not just the high gain stage. Rosamp is owned by “ in mad out” transformers.
And for a first time builder I would not recommend ceriatone...
Randy R,are you the guy that posts on Craigslist in Columbus and never lists a price or what you’d trade for?
If so ,you’ve had some cool gear posted but I never got any kind of reply.
This. I couldn’t get mine in tune. Even had the set screw all the way out. I took a small round file to the insides and removed some of the chrome plating and now the set screw works and it tunes up fine.
