Tube amps are apparently dead..... again

Well .... you need content for your channel ......

didn't Kyle Bull also post something like this also .... something about selling all his gear .

If I'm thinking of the right video Kyle posted something about being inspired to create music again so he was shifting his focus towards that and away from acquiring/trying new gear.

ahhhh that's what I get for " skim " watching .....

I definitely saw another " influencer " mention it somewhere though ..... hmmmm

They’re pissed demand is high and prices haven’t dropped so they want to influence a market crash so they can buy more shit.

Tube amps aren’t going anywhere and are very much alive and in demand. No solid state anything even plugged into a 1000W amp will ever sound like 180W of tubes thumping your pants legs and people know it.

you answered your own question, every time one of these videos is made its posted at every forum much like this video has and now here we are discussing it again lol. Toob purists are sensitive bunch easily set off by the digital crowd who like picking on them and all you gotta do is make a "Digital vs Tubes" to start conflict, its like free money

What are they going to do after they profile/capture, then sell as promised, their favorite tube amps with the latest flavor of the month "tube obsoleter" device when the next generation units come along that have the demonstrated ability to capture a tube amp to an even higher degree of authenticity? Cry tears of regret? Will it be lost on them that every new generation and iteration of these tube obsoleter units are the only things becoming obsolete in 3-5 year increments? Time has proven that old and new generations of tried and true tube amps can coexist beautifully. Who is clamoring for 'vintage' AxeFx ver. 1 tones 3000 firmware updates ago or from some profiler circa 2015 that no one remembers ?

No free money if I don't watch it. Clickbait titles and stupid faces are all I need to selectively screen my YT viewing habits.

I would be happy if modelers got there. I keep waiting. I think it's close

Yeah about 2-3 others as well that popped on my feed. Its almost like they text each other and decide to push a narrative together to see how much influence they really have. I'll stick to pornhub for entertainment, thx.

I am the first to admit that the modelers have gotten incredible in terms of tone, response. features and flexibility. I keep a Helix at home for these exact reasons. That said, they still cannot accurately replicate the FEEL of being in the room with a high quality tube amp. Technology may accomplish this at some point, but as far as I'm concerned, they haven't done so yet. Not selling my tube amps anytime soon.

me too, i never understood why guitar players are seemingly against technology, its like they never want modelers to catch up which i gotta assume with AI and everything now is going to happen sooner than later... or maybe not. i guess we will just keep discussing it till it does lol

Such a stupid question/idea to put forward (coming from a guy who doesn’t mind using modeling for my main amp tones).

Just using this forum as an example, you’ve got guys willing to dish up to $7K for a Mesa head, $5K + 5 years for a Larry amp, those who took chances throwing a few grand at Cameron….when people are still willing to throw cash at them like that, there are still PLENTY of people under that that will be buying them for years to come.

Even if they stopped making them entirely, there’d still be a huge market for them. I can’t stand this youtuber bullshit. I don’t care how much I dig some of these guy’s channels, the second they do the “insert dick here” face they drop in points. IDGAF about algorithms, put out good fucking content and people will watch it. Fuck off with the clickbait bullshit.
