The last KISS show is tonight. Thoughts?

I definetly got my KISS fix when Roth opened for them in 2020, around 20 shows, watching them every night brought back lots of childhood memories! I can't help but think they'll continue and maybe do some one-off shows/festivals, either way best of luck to all of them...
I went to show in Oakland . I believe that was the last show before Covid shut it all down

I expect a Kiss Show, that will be made up of actors or musicians that will play the characters of Kiss; probably a long run in Las Vegas and a roadshow. Costumes, makeup, music, shows, choreography, etc., the fans won't care who is on stage, it's about the Kiss live experience.

Except for older fans that see Kiss as Gene, Paul, Ace and Peter, most younger fans may not care who is on stage playing the parts.

That's what I'd do. Ka-ching!

Not a huge fan, but I had Double Platinum in 77 or 78.. Back then I was still little but me and a buddy across the street would sneak up to the 7-Eleven to get Kiss Cards that were just like Baseball Cards..

My favorite tune on that Record was Do You Love Me..

I love you Tech but truthfully the Stones are pretty pitiful although I will give them an A+ for being out on the road at 80 years old !!!

..and many that died young. I wish I had a chance to see Steve Marriott live; had tix for Lynyrd Skynyrd for the Street Survivors tour that never happened, but I did see Rossington-Collins Band twice (once with Black Oak Arkansas I think that could have been another show; once with Jonathan Edwards and Pure Prairie League - all three were great live. I'm thankful I got to see Boston live on their first tour, they had an unknown band opening called The Cars (or that could have been for Aerosmith on their Draw the Line tour?).

I do cut some of my fav bands (like Kiss) some slack given their age, IIRC, Sinatra was still selling out shows until the end even though fans knew he was a mere shadow of his former self. To me it's a matter of respect, paying tribute and saying thank you for their music. If these musicians played here I'd go see them live for these reasons, not expecting them to sound anything like their prime. Compassion, respect and honor for who they are, their talent and what they accomplished. Same for DLR, though I do have hard time with Vince Neil.

One band that comes to mind where the fans rag on the singer is Dream Theater; James was great in is prime, and I'm happy he's till up there doing it, I don't expect him to sound like he did 20+ years ago, but he's a big part of what makes DT DT to me.

YMMV

When they are gone it means we all are close to gone . It symbolizes death to me lol I’m nuts

My first show was Kiss's farewell tour in 2000 and my son's first show was the Kiss farewell tour this year. We just watched the final show together and it was awesome. Who knows, maybe his kids first show someday will be a Kiss farewell show.

Claiming its the end. They have a history of repeated ends. I hope they really follow thru this time.

I don't think they can do it anymore. They may have tributes tp them but Gene and Paul are done. Mid 70s, I can't imagine.

Well apparently the egos of AI immortality want to live forever, then freeze their heads possibly and collect later. Haha.

Not a fan of this personally.

My brother and buddies used to jump off furniture and shit with our parents tennis rackets pretending to be rock gods. Alive II was my first and favorite album. Asylum is a great album too. But I somewhat lost interest after Animalize.

And yeah, they did not tour for money - they toured to feed their ego. Nothing wrong with that, they are entitled to everything they have/have built.

RSM you are a genius and you want to know something -- They would probably do a better job ! Younger , more talented. I'm telling you some of the tribute bands skill wise are insane and with makeup no one would know who was playing at 1/3 the price . LOL!!!!

I respect them but have never liked their music overall. I also never have liked the face-painting thing, and I'll say the same for black-metal bands too.

i thought they did their last show 25 years ago when i was in high school?
Same. My buddies and I mowed lawns all summer to save up for tickets, to the 2000 farewell tour.

Skid Row opened, minus Sebastian Bach. Up next was Ted Nugent, with Tommy Aldridge on drums which was a nice surprise. After the show, KISS famously displayed the town of Greenfield on the big screen instead of Greenville.

When I was about 10 I had a friend who was really, really into them, I was way more into Aerosmith and Boston. Never got into Kiss at all but I understand the appeal...Simmons grosses me out though.....
