I went with the 50 watt. My MCII is 50 watts as well.
What made you go for the 50w Hell Razor? Consistency with your MCII?

That, plus my only cab is a 2 x 12. I record direct using IRs. Just don't need all that power...especially with a Wizard. Punches plenty hard @ 50W.What made you go for the 50w Hell Razor? Consistency with your MCII?
I’m super excited. Playing my mtl2 El34 a lot now since I can hear the major differences.Really want to hear one of these!
My Bad. I misunderstood the question. What's your favorite Wizard at the Moment and how would you compare the HellRazor the EVH 5150 6L6?I think he meant he doesn't prefer the KT88 tubes, all Wizards include tubes
Maybe the KT88 MCII or MTL 40wMy Bad. I misunderstood the question. What's your favorite Wizard at the Moment and how would you compare the HellRazor the EVH 5150 6L6?
This is trueThere are NO wrong answers for the type of Wizard amp model, or tubes it is equipped with. They ALL are monster amps.
I’m a 6l6 but el34 in wizard is way richerIf I got a Hell Razor, I would go 6L6 also. The HR is a modern high gain, preamp-centric, fire breathing metal amp all about huge crushing tones. To me, 6L6's have always been better at pairing up with that kind of sound. The extended highs and lows of 6L6's relative to EL34's, and also a 6L6's tendency to not mush up the mids at high volumes like EL34's can, seems like a better fit for that kind of sound.
Granted I'm talking about like a 2% difference in sound. I have an EVH Stealth 100w (which has 6L6's) and an EVH EL34 100w, and when I A/B them I cannot emphasize enough how small the differences are between those amps.
