Just built better, nicer features and pups...... just better in every regard..... a modern guitar with a better build like dual graphite rods and truss rod at the heel vs the old way where Fenders have none of that..... compound radius vs no compound radius on Fenders....

USA aftermarket pups, vs proprietary pups...... top shelf aftermarket hardware like a Floyd/Gotoh trem vs proprietary meh stuff on Fenders too......

Why do Fenders cost more than Charvels, how come they don't cost the same or less than Charvels :dunno:

Are they though? There are a lot of models and in those models, different features. Personally, I see a lot more Fender models that appeal to me than Charvels, but I prefer a more standard strat guitar.

Yeah but I mean...... really they kind of are.

You get dual graphite rods on a Charvel right for added tuning stability... I don't even think you get that on an average Fender..... maybe an Ultra.....

Proprietary pups on Fenders vs Top Shelf aftermarket Seymour Duncans on Charvels.....

Proprietary hardware on Fenders vs Floyd/Gotoh on Charvels.....

Non locked nut on Fenders vs locked nut on Charvels with Floyds for added tuning stability......

Non compound radius on Fenders vs compound radius on Charvels......

Thick paint on Fenders vs thin skin/paper thin finishes on Charvels.....

Non Rolled boards on the average Fender vs fully Rolled boards on all Charvels.....

Carves and contours and overall build seem to be nicer on the Charvels in general too short of spending the cash on a Ultra or Custom Shop Fender.....

There just seems to be a lot more that goes into an MIM Charvel and it just has more features, value, practical use, quality is better and builds are better too in general vs most Fenders on average even the MIA ones short of an Ultra or Custom Shop or something like that. Don't really want a Fender or kind of think about one nowadays but shouldn't Charvels cost more and shouldn't Fenders cost the same as a Charvel or less :dunno:

I picked up a Charvel Tele with humbuckers, made in mexico, and the feel and build quality was impressive for an inexpensive guitar.

Beat the pants off the mexican made fender stuff.

A lot of those options you listed are personal opinion and not always "better" to a player. A lot of people like Fender pickups, people like the vintage hardware. It's all subjective. I personally prefer older, more vintage feeling guitars.

One could ask "Why do people still even buy Gibson Les Pauls, when there are a bunch of newer Les Paul copies made of "xxxxxx" more modern parts and building methods. But they will still sell and obviously have their market and longtime fans. I am a Fender guy, and for whatever reason...a nice Strat just does it for me. But that is the sound I am into. I don't want a Strat to sound like a juiced up metal machine.

So split the coils........ I know but yeah

I mean your not getting nowhere near as good tuning stability with the old design right either...... I get what your saying with Les Pauls and I mean I agree there but with the Strats it's sort of like why play the old 6 point and pay more for whatever reason.....

When the Charvel is there, cost less, sounds as good, can do way more and is just kind of better in every way too.

Even has that relic feel thanks to the Satin neck without the relic look.

Well, like I said, it's all personal opinion and what gets the job done for that specific player.

I mean I get this too..... but if you start thinking about it..... and the less stuff it takes to make an old 6 point...... and the less labor and technique involved there..... with proprietary hardware and electronics.... old school non compound radius, old school truss rod, non Rolled edges etc etc.....

It doesn't make any sense why a Fender cost more than a Charvel counterpart short of a Fender MIA Ultra or Custom Shop and that is all I'm saying.

I would hypothesize that they can charge more for a Fender than a Charvel.

I am playing this guitar right now, it's a 90's US Tele, Ash. I don't use humbuckers, and I want a fixed bridge, string through like this. Which current Charvel model would you suggest for me?

Most of those things you've listed are subjective, comparing apples to oranges, or just aren't accurate.
Don't forget that gigbag!
It's 10% off.
But yeah.

Style 2 SoCal or San Dimas with string through....... split them and your good to go with bucker options too...... :dunno:

All I'm saying really is there is a lot more that goes into making a Charvel today than a guitar designed in the 50s and it really shouldn't cost more.

Why do Fenders cost more than Charvels,
Why didn't Apollo Creed choose a higher profile fighter to celebrate the cracking of the Liberty Bell against than the Italian Stallion when Mac Lee Green couldn't make the bout? IT'S THE NAME MAN! SOUNDS LIKE A DAMN MONSTAH MOOOVEE.

I wonder why SRV just didn't buy a brand new Jackson Soloist and ditch his Strats?
I wouldn't be surprised if he would have or a Charvel maybe....... just ask the guy with the best blues licks and tones money can buy....... John Mayer he played a Charvel and Jackson too and sounded as good or better ^_^

Apparently more time and energy went into this regarding years in the making of this blue Charvel Pro-Mod vs even the PRS Silver Sky........ Regardless if JM can pull off SRV/BB King on a Charvel I have no doubt SRV would have had a problem on one or a Jackson or even a Kramer
