What CAN'T you do on guitar?

Sweep picking. I've just never been very good at it. Fortunately, the music styles I play do not use it much.

I cant play slide for shit. But for me the intro and vocal backnforth in live Stateboro Blues is still one of the most bone chilling guitar parts ever.
 
I cannot play like any of the guys I love.
I can only play like me and that sucks.

I also can't play country and since I hate it, that is no problem.

I cannot read music nor do I care you.

I cannot play Jazz well but wish I could.
 
I’ll I know is guitar . Being a teacher has made me learn everything at some point . But playing

I can't learn to read tab, etc. My ADHD kicks in and I just figure it out by ear.
 
Everyone here can play and you know your strengths and that’s what makes you good. Some better than others based on practice time for individual licks and rhythms. The problem with humans is that we focus on the shit we can’t do and think that it makes us bad. We want to be weapon X from the X-men series and be able to do everything. But in reality we each have a gift that makes us unique. Embrace it; practice it and other things to make you better when you play to the public.
When @Techdeth teaches me I have him teach me certain songs that have a technique in it to practice. Such as Bark at the moon; A string chug plus stabs, or angus young leads, Satriani legato, Kotzen hybrid picking, sweep arpeggios. etc etc My way of “impressing” my crowd is to show off what I know really well and add the extra stuff in small bits until that becomes me as well. Having said that I suck. I hear folks play shit I can’t do. wtf. On the flip side; they can’t do what I do. I fortunately have the ability to sing and play at the same time. That’s taken years to get my mind to separate. I also am the front man. And one thing I can do really well is talk shit to the crowd and get them fired up.

Need to practice more....goals for this year are Dave Murray style solos and fast tight gallops (Dan's clips are sooooo out of my league!)
 
Practice. I hate practicing. I’m done after 30 minutes of mindless riffing. Love playing with a band but hate playing by myself. Just can’t focus on anything unless I have to.
