Hey All.

I am thinking of picking up a 2x12 cabinet to use with my Syn50. Initial thought is to get the matching 2x12, but I have zero experience with one and haven’t found one local enough to put eyes on it.

Does anyone have experience?

Need a 2x12 for this purpose because a 4x12 won’t fit where I want to place the amp in my guitar area….too tall.

I’m also considering Bogner and Mesa and have experience with both of those.

Thanks!

I've had a few 212s over the years. But I tend to like bigger 212s. My favorite was this comically massive Aftershock 212 that I had for a while. Vader was alright, a little small sounding. Earcandy Buzzbomb was cool if you like ported. I think overall the best ones were the Avatar OS cabs...similar size to the Orange 212s. Great sounding cabs! I used to keep one in my closet, turned sideways, with mics always on it for recording. Currently, I have a KSR 212, and it's pretty good, too.

I think Mesa and EVH 212s aren't too dissimilar in size compared to the Vader 212, so I would imagine them sounding a bit on the smaller side, but I don't have personal experience with either of those.

I've had one for a long time, basically a Friedman with a different speaker connection plate?(stereo). Sounds great. I do have the vertical Friedman and Soldano cabs that I like better for sound dispersion while playing at home.

Sounds very good! it's very portable (I switched speaker to celestion neo creamback so it's even lighter) and having the stereo option on the back makes it much more versatile then the other Boutique Amp distributions counterparts (soldano, friedman etc 2x12s) and sounds exactly the same and costs much less. Actually I am planning to buy their 4x12 and make it a 3/4 stack for wdw

Thanks folks. I decided to pull the trigger on the Synergy 2x12. Might be here today.

FWIW, I always prefer a 4x12 even at very low volume, but the spot I want to put this setup will only accommodate a horizontal 2x12, so we shall see….

Looking forward to your initial impressions...I have my eye on a local one as well.

They’re Friedman 2x12s w/ different cosmetics and a back plate that can run mono or stereo.
