Revisiting Synergy

My gigging band is done after 15yrs of playing... so sold off rig and haven't touched my electric guitars in a year. When inspiration strikes again.... or if I decide to pick up and plug in again... Will most likely be grabbing the Synergy 20IR and SLO II module. Another module at some point for slight different flavor and tone. Cheers All
Sorry to hear the news Cory. You’ll be back….

Just got the 20ir, comparing to syn30 that I've had since launch. Love the platform. RIP Ace.

Thanks Paul... hope all is well. And for sure will be back. Just taking my time with things and not forcing it... picking up the acoustic every other day or so. Take care and have a great Holiday season. Cheers

Like some others here, I also wonder how does the SYN-50 compare to the SYN2 + separate power amp. I used to have an Egnater MOD 50 and a Randall RM50 and liked the rack setup slightly better, so I sold both heads. Never tried the SYN-50. I am currently running a SYN1+SYN2+Fryette PS100 and it works great and sounds pretty good as a 3 module setup, but there is always something really convenient about a single head.

I sold my Engl E530 preamp but kept my Engl E850/100 power amp with dual 100W 6L6GC power amps.

I've been looking at Synergy SYN-2 as a preamp for it, on and off for a few years now...but was busy getting other gear.

I have my Marshall, Mesa, Diezel, Fender, Engl, tones covered; so looking for something different from what I have.

I really like what I heard of the Vai module, for clean and lead, so that's one; looking at other modules for 70's crunch and modern, tight, smooth prog rhythm tones...open to modules to consider, so far the Ecstasy, Fortin Killer Kali, Pittbull,...

I've got the Syn50, Syn2, Mod50 and RM100. Personally I think the Mod50 sounds the best. I did however add an input cathode switch and mod the NFB Ala Foglifter. No matter how you slice it the modular platform definitely has it's place and with so much flexibility you should be able to make any configuration work for you.

Played that SYN-50 a few years ago & liked it a lot.

I wish they made a 50w one module model with Depth, Presence, NFB that could take a variety of power tubes like the KSR Orion. Or made their SYN-30 a 50watter.

Would love to have one with the 2c+ module.
I've got one and it is nice. I got the Rectifier with it and I love that one too. I have recently figured out I am a Rectifier man.

It's cool.. I order two cool amps (modules) and the wife says, "you got a little package in the mail today." Instead of, "Did you order another amp?" :ROFLMAO:

I have had a Syn50 for a good while now and even bought the matching 2x12 cab. Dig both quite a bit.

I do have extensive experience with the modular stuff going back to Randall and Egnater, and think the Synergy stuff is a great next step in the evolution.

Tried most of the high gain modules and my main go to’s are
-Pitbull
-Killer Kali
-Drect

I have also kept the 6505, BE DLX and VH4, which is somewhat interesting because I hated all 3 VH4’s I’ve owned. Wanted to like them, but just couldn’t.

I’d like to try the new Marshall module at some point.

This system hangs with my Cherry Bomb and Mark III+.
