Does he ask the question, how does someone with your obvious talent, not get bored playing generic, radio rock, night after night?
I mean I guess he likes it and I don’t expect him to be like his Dad or playing prog but, damn, it’s so uninteresting what he’s doing.

Dude has arrived IMO. Having famous parents and a lot of money only takes you so far. If he sucked or was an average musician people wouldn't go to his shows. Dude plays and sings his ass off because he developed his talents by putting in the hours.
I think his tunes are pretty good. I wish I had half of that man's talent. The song "Distance" that he wrote about him and his Dad is a tear jerker on steroids, especially if you watch the video.

Listening more to the interview, seems like a very nice dude. Realizing it’s mostly his vocals and melodies that lose me. Definitely got some interesting riffs etc going on but the verses and choruses, vocally aren’t for me. Seems to have a good head on his shoulders though.

i agree. i really want to be into him, who better to carry the rock torch than a Van Halen, hes certainly talented.. but it just falls short.

I honestly have never listened to his music, not once, not ever. He seems like a fairly well adjusted guy for who he is & what he's been through. With all that said, i just hope the best for him. Life is short.

I dig what he is doing. I can understand how it's not for everyone. That's the beauty of music.... we all like different stuff. Personally, I think his music is really cool.

I think he is super talented but agree his songs are meh. Fun to listen to especially with not only his pedigree but varied experience at such a young age. Typing this wearing a VH T shirt right now!

I like a couple of his songs, but I don't really listen to them often. That being said, I think he is a super solid kid with his head on straight. He has also appeared on his mom's cooking show from time to time. He gets trolled and hit on social media a ton and his responses are funny. He will most likely get that from the boomers until that generation fades out due to who his dad was. All I know is that his dad absolutely adored him and set him up to be his own man. I respect that a shit ton!

He's doing his own thing, which is really nice. The Songs I heard on this were kind of meh, but its just because its not my thing. Very talented, and the production on the stuff is awesome.

The issue with Wolfgang is that he is honestly extremely talented, but he writes and records all of his own stuff—everything. At least the first album.
I’m not sure of the dynamic and people feeling comfortable to tell him no. It’s like EVH and VHIII.
He may get suggestions, but probably not much pushback, or enough pushback, to make something that’s good great, so all his stuff just winds up being lackluster.

His material has Foo Fighter vibes through out. I think he's awesome and saw him last year open up for Metallica. I am hoping he eventually has a breakout single putting him into the mainstream.

There’s a lot of appeal to doing everything yourself when you can play other instruments well enough. I have a slew of instrumental 4 track demo’s I did in the 90’s where I still like a fair bit of it. They’re written as something to be sung on but I just can’t sing in any way that I would want to hear as a listener.
Often you write a riff and know exactly what kind of beat, fills and accents you would like as you play the riff. Also you might have specific ways you like the bass to be played and its tone. It certainly never hurt Prince’s records. I think it’s just what he really likes to play either works or doesn’t work for a listener’s taste. I don’t think it’s compromising what Mammoth would be as band, whether other members came up with their own stuff or not. Ie. He’s still going to sing the way he does, even if arrangements go through a group process.
