I think most boost pedals have a HPF of sorts since the cut out some low end when engaged. The Xotic BB preamp has a high and low eq knob but I feel like they are more of a shelving eq.

Quick update: Just got the new tubes, and popped ‘em in. The units running like a champ! Big thanks to Fryette for shipping these out so fast.

I can give you my 2 cents on the FL Uberkab. Played a Diezel 412 years ago but it’s been too long for me to remember what it sounded like. The FL Uberkab is somewhat dark sounding. On par with my PPC412 but very direct. I’m in a well treated room so I’m getting a more less good representation...

Never recorded with tape emulation, but might through it on an individual bus or on the 2bus once in a while.

Yeah, simple tube swap should fix the problem. The guy helping me over there goes by the name of Dave. I’m sure they’re pretty busy and just overlooked my email. Glad they finally got back to me though. Will keep you guys posted.

Update: Figured I’d send them one more email and got a response within 20 minutes. They even offered for me to stop by the facility to service the unit.

Thanks, They claim the tubes they receive are tested and they undergo additional testing at Fryette. Whatever the case is, a few bad ones slip through the cracks. I get it, it happens, but would expect better communication.

Alnico creams remind me of a refined version of the V30 without the upper mid spike. The Redbacks are definitely a dark speaker, but should pair nicely with the alnicos.
