I think most boost pedals have a HPF of sorts since the cut out some low end when engaged.
The Xotic BB preamp has a high and low eq knob but I feel like they are more of a shelving eq.
My buddies and I used to rent lockout rehearsal
spaces in North Hollywood for a few hours. This was in the mid 2000’s.
I was in my early 20’s and the only amp I had back then was a small solid state crate.
My first ever experience with a real tube amp was the Blue Voodoo.
If we were lucky...
If anyone is still interested in where the actual tube locations on the B.A.D SLO 100 is.
Got this info a while ago from Boutique amps.
-V1 is the preamp tube closest to the input jack and is the input stage
for the entire amp, the 2nd half of V1 is the 2nd stage for the
clean/crunch channel...
That goes without saying.
The only 2 logical things to do was either return the unit or request new tubes from Fryette.
Pretty sure the originals I had are Fryette labeled psvane tubes. plate structure and the side getter flash arent the same as new sensor.
the replacement set they sent me are...
I can give you my 2 cents on the FL Uberkab.
Played a Diezel 412 years ago but it’s been too long for me to remember what it sounded like.
The FL Uberkab is somewhat dark sounding.
On par with my PPC412 but very direct.
I’m in a well treated room so I’m getting a more less good representation...
Yeah, simple tube swap should fix the problem.
The guy helping me over there goes by the name of Dave.
I’m sure they’re pretty busy and just overlooked my email. Glad they finally got back to me though.
Will keep you guys posted.
Update:
Figured I’d send them one more email and got a response within 20 minutes.
They even offered for me to stop by the facility to service the unit.
Thanks,
They claim the tubes they receive are tested and they undergo additional testing at Fryette.
Whatever the case is, a few bad ones slip through the cracks.
I get it, it happens, but would expect better communication.
As the title says.....
Bought a brand new PS-100, plug it in, and right tube starts redplating.
First thing I did was contact support@Fryette.
Got a response requesting I remove the top cover and take a picture.
(I'm assuming they want to send me matching replacement tubes since the plate...
Alnico creams remind me of a refined version of the V30 without the upper mid spike.
The Redbacks are definitely a dark speaker, but should pair nicely with the alnicos.
