    Bad news for Mastodon fans

Hot take: Brent was my least favorite part of the band. Couldn't stand his voice, or his face. They haven't written anything great since long ago so might as well bring in new blood.

Recording and editing modern bedroom metal.

I do see the value in recording (draft/demo/rough) this way, in order to lay down the foundation and to get your "ducks in a row". But then you bet your bippy ass you better be able to play and record the whole thing through for your final!

...any ENGL SAVAGE fans in here? 👀

I've never even tried a Savage 120 before but I do know that I need to own one. Does it have its own Character or does it sound like anything in the 5150 family?

Unintentional, the Brand of Amps I Own the Most of is Mesa

Hey I have mostly Peavey stuff so there's that! You like what you like! The only place to venture from what you like is, spending twice the amount of money to buy some boutique name brand amp that will get you 95% the same tone anyways

Pianst plays Mr.Crowley solo......highlights just how great Randy was

The reason why I said what I said is because I happen to find that chord progression/framework to be special. You just disagree Remove the musical foundation and you just have Randy's lead solo'd which is of course great on its own, but then you dont have the song and moving progression. But...

    What’s is YOUR standard tuning?

I used to just tune to whatever my lowest string was, no matter how far it drifted away....until I go to play along with a song then realize I need to tune the whole thing lol

Pianst plays Mr.Crowley solo......highlights just how great Randy was

As brilliant as Randy was, credit needs to be given to Don Airey, whom I believe created the chord progressions within Mr. Crowley. Especially the chord foundation during the solos.

    New Death Metal

I picked up this cd a couple weeks ago....very good! It's technical but not overdone. Bands like First Fragment...is too technical for me. But Aborted has the right amount.

Would have never have thought the GM40 could sound good

I can confirm. I've had one. Inherently fizzy that I couldn't figure how to dial out. So I returned it and got a black spirit 200 amp instead to see if it was any better.....same Inherent fizz.

    Drop C String Gauge

Honestly I would just use the strings you have. Tune them how you want and then see if you like how the slightly less tension feels. If not, incrementally try larger strings

Which 80s finger slinger wrote the most unique solos?

Zakk wylde. Blazing fast pentatonic lickd and his signature lick that is hard to describe.....the 3 note lick where does a tap and pull of thing where the notes are either descending or ascending chromatically. He does it for example in I don't want to save the world if that helps
