    Revv amps?

I had a Revv G20 and that was basically the vibe I felt. While it doesn't sound exactly like an Engl it's definitely in that direction. It was surely tight and modern but I can make all my other amps sound tight and modern with a parametric EQ. And for the price of a 20 watter I could've...

The Ultimate Diezel - Hagen 25

My Herbert sounds pretty good at low volume, and a new 25w Diezel would probably cost more than an used full sized one.

On for now for some variance haha.

NGD: '68 Reissue Les Paul Custom

It’s still low output but voiced more aggressive/crunchy than 57 and Burstbucker. So I can make it work for high gain with a boost.

NGD: '68 Reissue Les Paul Custom

I’ve installed the Gotoh locking tuners. Also swapped the bridge pickup to a T Top which was originally from my ‘79 Silverburst.

Omega Obsidian: Am I missing something?

By your description I’d guess it was designed for lower tunings.

BTW a friend lent me a pair of Aldrich but the hole has been drilled for direct mount. Any recommendation on how to mount it to a pickup ring?

Post-2014 ones would have the "correct" 60's neck from what I've heard.

NGD: '68 Reissue Les Paul Custom

I've been looking into a post-2014 '68 LPC reissue for a while, which supposedly have more "correct" specs but there weren't a lot of them made. So I settled with this 2010 '68 LPC "Authentic". No idea what "Authentic" means, maybe it means the VOS finish which wasn't too common on older 68RI's...

    NGD: Eastman T486

They are quite well made with nitro finish and brand parts. I wouldn’t pay new price but I think they are pretty good buy if you can find one used.

    NGD: Eastman T486

I've been looking into a semihollow for a while. But every time I looked into a Gibson 335 I just go "HOW MUCH they want for a plywood guitar?" and end up with another Les Paul instead. I was looking at a new Epiphone Lucille but realized that I can get an used Eastman T486 around that price...

    Amp rabbit holes

Destroy Erase Improve and Chaosphere were recorded with boosted Rectos before anything fancy was on the market. "Tight" became the last thing I look for in an amp after I realized I can just put a parametric EQ in front...

Isn't the "Meshuggah thing" more about the boost than the actual amps?

ENGL E530 any good? Any alternatives?

I had one years ago and it was good, definitely in the Savage/Blackmore family. And it cost about the same used as a Synergy Engl module. I have a SYN1 but I'd totally own a E530 again instead buying a Synergy Engl module.

Les Paul guys - balanced pickups?

If your LP is on the heavier side weight-wise then get something that's slightly scooped to counter the excessive lower-mids.
