Just to follow up you just preferred the high gain voicing from the D60 over the CL? Would you briefly be able to tell me what the major differences were that edged out the D60 versus the other (better for the style of music you play etc.).
Thanks for your input I appreciate it
A nice clean channel is a bonus. I mainly play anything from 80's (hard rock, thrash & hair metal, shred) up to stuff like Alice in Chains, Death, Pantera, Lamb of God
Would both of these cover that? The clean channel would just be added flexibility. Does it make sense that both of these are...
Hey everyone,
I've been looking at the Fryette stuff for a while for a bit more of an open sounding, high gain head. The D60 II is available new (albeit I can't try one because I'm in Canada) but I could buy and return if needed. There is also a used Fryette Pittbull 50 CL. I was wondering if...
That's awesome guys. Wish I could have made it today. Those 3 amps are very difficult to come across in the GTA so I am very much looking forward to the next one!
I was mildly curious about Kruse's Ultrasonic model. Bruce Bouillet is a big inspiration to me. Haven't seen or heard anyone speak about that amp though to be honest. It is mainly just Diezel mods floating around that i've seen.
I usually play more high gain stuff so those amps sound amazing to be able to try. For any clean / pedal junkies, I could bring out the Two Rock Studio Signature and 2x12 cabinet next time.
I'm a fairly new forum member located in downtown Toronto. I'm just seeing this now and unfortunately will be away from the city this weekend, but count me in for the next one. Where are you looking to hold it by the way?
Cheers,
Jesse
I'm curious about this as well. I don't see a lot of commentary on the 50 clean channel generally. Some have said the lack of system volume on the 50 can be controlled by the Return level control on the back to address that difference between the two. I'm in a bit of the same scenario as OP when...
Thanks fellas,
I definitely felt in the modded marshall camp with it. Should probably test out that Rev G and provide an opinion after. Unfortunately that is a new area to me and all these different Rev models I may never have the benefit of playing!
Lay the favourites out for me!
Cheers,
Hey all,
Was in a store picking up a new guitar and wanted to give it a test run. The store had a Badlander 50W combo which has a 65W Creamback speaker in it I believe. I was pretty impressed with the sounds I could get in under 5 minutes (mainly playing hair metal and thrash type stuff on it)...
Don’t get me wrong, modded Marshall’s remain supreme! Just trying to see what else is out there hahah
How does one decide between Friedman, Wizard, KSR…etc. Well I’m going to get them all! (At some point)
Hi everyone,
I've found I am very attracted to the modded Marshall builders mentioned here frequently (Friedman & Wizard for example). I think i'm covered there. But could someone give me some insight on the prototypical American high gain sound (Mesa, 5150?) that is different from the marshall...
Nope. I like a wide range but more skewed towards the heavier stuff in general (80's hard rock/thrash and into Death, Pantera, Lamb of God, Mastodon). Good to hear that speaker combo works for you for the more modern stuff.
Thank you for this! Good to hear. I'm guessing that is the 4x12 you have? Also, what types of music are you playing with the Hermansson just so I can get a sense.
