Tried this beast today in the studio! What a cool amp!
Thx man! yeah that's the one! That sounds killer! What a jam room too! I've been itching to try the big Revv. Is the the latest version (mkiii?).
I’ve never played a Rev in person but polite and non aggressive is what I hear constantly. Like a tube that sounds like a modeler or somethingVery solid, but it is rather "polite" as @Beyond Black says.
That may change with a close mic, though?

Pretty much exactly my thoughts when I tried one here mic’d up… soft as a baby’s ass. Soft, polite, no edge at all. Hard, hard pass for me m.
That's definitely true! They are rather clinical and maybe more studio oriented but for the modern stuff they are killer amps with lots of features. I would never buy one to be honest thoughNice sounding amps, but rather polite and very compressed. Your Mesas fucking devour it.
For modern tones with a ton of switchable options, I consider KSR’s to be in the same category as Revv, but KSR’s smoke them IMO.At least in the realm of ultra modern high gain it seems like there are way better options out there.
I'm not really a connoisseur of this sound though, to me it all sounds a bit neutered - but from some reason the revv stuff specifically comes across as super tame and clinical.
I'd love to be proven wrong with some great close miced clips, but they haven't appeared yet![]()

Another friend on mine has a Colossus, and that‘s a killer amp. It’s much more aggressive and growly than the Revv. He gigs with it and it cuts really well and sounds huge. Guitar players are always sniffing around that amp when he takes it out. HahahaaaYeah if this was the sound I was going for, a Colossus or something I think would be way better.
Plus kyle doesn't do the obnoxious youtube shill marketing overload thing, plus his stuff seems better designed and thought out.
I'm actually more impressed with his pedal designs than his amps though lol, the Eros is a really fucking great swiss army knife overdrive to keep around.
My buddy
