How is Electra Dyne at bedroom levels?

Was just wondering. I am about to pull the trigger on a 45/90W Electra Dyne head. How is it at low volumes with some FX in the loop? Usable? I will have a band again someday soon but not right this moment, so it needs to remain neighbour friendly.

MXR 109 vs MXR 108 - EQ in Loop

I want to use an EQ in the loop of my Randall RM22 to have a lead boost without the coloration of the onboard boost (which adds a lot of bass and makes the sound congested and compressed). MXR 109 has • 6 bands • +/- 18dB per band • Standard 9V operation • No extra Gain/Volume slider • 79,- RRP...

Great Review of Voodoo Rock in German Gitarre und Bass

Just read a V-Rock review in G&B. Great evaluation of an amazing amp, top marks despite the quite high price (in Germany it's getting quite expensive). Here is a quick teaser of the article in the mag: http://www1.gitarrebass.de/magazine/ind ... =201105162

My new (huge) rig - runthrough & tones -my best setup ever!

Follow up to my recent post about my new acquisition of a Groove Tubes Trio Pre. I rigged it all up, the Cornford Mk50H, GT Trio, Korg DL8000R, GLab Switchers and controllers and some pedals. Everything is switched and controlled via Midi. It is FUN! 00:00-02:50 Explanation of the rig...

    New Preamp Day (Yesterday)

Received delivery of my Groove Tubes Trio Pre yesterday. This will become my Clean/Crunch Channel for the Cornford Mk50H (the GT and Cornford Pres switched via Rack). Actually I might also use the GTs Scream channel after all, let's see how it gels in with the Cornford. Today I changed some...

    Question re "floating" bias ...

I always bias my amps myself, using a Bias Rite. Obviously I don't know all the different methods to bias an amp, so this is the safe one for me. Now on some amps I set the bias with master on "0" and the reading doesn't change if I turn the amp up with the bias rite still connected. However...

Anyone have a clip or can explain "ghosting"?

What exactly is ghosting or ghost notes on an amp? I read it here and there and I have an idea of what it could be but not 100% sure. Although I've been playing for >20 years  Does someone have a clip or good explanation of ghosting? Clip preferred.
