I thought this could end up in the clip section, but much more people come into this sub forum, and I think this will be a learning experience for those of you who are unfamiliar or worried about having guitars tone reamped:
Question:
Does reamping have a positive, negative, or neutral effect...
I need to borrow your amp for a week. I will pay you to borrow it and leave you with an amp of mine if you need collateral. My Savage is broken and is humming like crazy and no tech I bring it to has any idea why. I need a working Engl Savage that doesn't make noise to A/B to my amp so this...
I have an Engl Savage 120 guitar head. The amplifier makes a very clearly audible and nasty 60hz+overtone buzz on the clean and crunch channels that exists even when there is no guitar plugged in at all. The amplifier was recently looked over by a guitar tech and recently retubed. Does anyone...

Here is an audio demo I did of the Baron Custom Amps K2. I explained it all in the video.

Guitar was a Dean Vendetta with Duncan Distortions.
Cabinet was a Mesa Rectifier 4x12.
The cabinet was recorded with a 57 up to the grille and a...
Trace,
Just recently looking into your stuff for the first time. I hear a lot of nice things about your work and had a few recommendations.
Since the new 2010 Dual Rectifiers will be out in the next few weeks, do you plan on carrying them and having them pre-modded for sale?
I have a...
Boosted quite heavily with a Maxon OD-820 Pro:

I own one, and there seems to be quite a lot of low frequency hum when both gains on the lead channel are up about 75% and nothing is plugged in to the amp. The amp was retubed today with fresh tubes. Is this normal in these amps? It sounds great, but the hum is pretty powerful.
Thanks,
-Greg :)
All of you guys who have been curious about my Friedman Modded Peavey Windsor:
Here is a song by Ola Englund of the Swedish band Feared, with backing tracks mixed by Ermz of the Andy Sneap forum. NO processing aside from a highpass and lowpass on the mixer...
Boogies, especially on the modern setting, do NOT sound good with the bass past noon, period. The Recto is one amplifier that is very finicky about that. The tone controls are also interactive on that beast. Apparently, Joey, you know something that a few other people don't
I am a relatively new forumite here, and I believe I have a great grasp on recording guitar amplifiers. I have spent the past two years of my life painstakingly tweaking knobs, moving microphones, using different boosts, changing cabinet positioning and choosing different micropones to...
Okay fellows, if you can pick out your playing, let me know the time starting and ending, in minutes and seconds, and the name of the clip.
Shure SM57 on the Mills Acoustics Afterburner 412B (V30 mic'd) for the Meathead and Dino.

Here are clips from Fortinfest! I reamped DIs on the spot from the same arrangement I used for the Baron Clips.
Chain: Presonus Firebox Output-> John Cuniberti Reamp v2-> Maxon OD 820 Pro-> Fortin Meathead-> Mills Acoustics Afterburner 412B-> Shure SM57-> Presonus Firbox Preamp

Okay guys. This amp may be the best amp I own. The clean channel is great (no time to make clips yet) and the lead channel can get into REALLY high gain territory. The various different controls on the amp allow you to really pinpoint where you're heading with the mid frequencies. The dampening...
EDIT: UPDATED CLIPS!
Modded 5150 II, Maxon OD-820 Pro Mills Afterburner and SM57. The V30 was mic'd.

IT'S ALIVEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
Dave from Baron amps is an incredible, knowledgable fellow, who has a firm grasp on amplifier building. He, in my opinion, has achieved a high gain channel with the perfect balance of rawness, sheen and tightness.

It seems like people on this forum like the 5150 III cabinets more than the heads.
I've heard so many mixed reviews on the head. I played one side by side with a 5150 II one time and it basically sounded identical to me. I'm not sure if I'm missing something or what. Chime in, folks!
