I still have one for now, and it can vary a lot, but I’ve used a ts9, sd1, and got a McRae Timmy to try on it and they all seem to work for different flavors. I tend to live on channel 2 the most.
It is what it is with this, with James having his hands in there it will sound good, but if I was a betting man I’d say one tube for the loop and the other for the phase inverter. Just my thoughts
I’m running my Rocktron thru the loop for reverb and delay and don’t really notice a difference. As long as the channel volumes are up to about noon. It surprised me with how much it can actually do and there’s is not an unusable setting on the knobs.
Everyone has there way to run a boost on an amp, I’ve done all that’s already mentioned and depending on the amp role in some extra gain as well. It’s all in what you want to hear in your tone tho.
I’ve got a split path on mine that just has an IR block. It still gets everything before I just split it off at the end and designated xlr output, and it works great.
