I'm sorry, but you not supposed to have this level of precision with power chord transitions with only 6 months under your belt :giggle:. Yes I'm biased, but man this kid makes it seem like it's no big deal
Notice the stack of CD's next to him? Streaming is nice, but hard copies develops...
I found that cat about 7 months ago as a ~6 month old kitten in my shop at work all covered in grease and dirt. Brought him home and he's been acting like the supreme Alpha male to the other 2 cats ever since :ROFLMAO:
My dad wanted to learn guitar a couple years ago. I bought him an acoustic that he toys around with it every now and then, but it hasn't been high priority for him since he's been focused on enjoying his recent retirement.
Some day soon though, all 3 generations of us will be shredding...
His progress in 6 months is about equal to my first 3 years lol. He learned a good portion of the song on his own, but we got the harmony part nailed down in about 10 minutes. Anyway, proud dad moment for me.
A - Always. Always check the condition.
I - Is. Is it my responsibility? I know it is because it's f#ck or walk. You check or you hit the bricks.
D - Decision. Have you made your decision to check the condition for Ch#st?
A - And Action.
I bought an NFA Trust last year from a Black Friday deal, but haven't done anything with it other than print the whole thing out and immediately get intimidated by the leagalese and stuffed it away. I think with the impending brace ban I probably need to get on it. For now I'm only going to SBR...
I've been victim to this more than once. Not necessarily in the ad, but during discussion/leading up to the transaction. Tire kicking sellers:
"Ok, let's meet at X location at Y time"
Sellers never show. Ignores my texts and calls. Then after constant hammering, a day or two later I get...
I agree about the similarities of the XXX and XXL. I did a couple shows switching between both, and honestly for the tones I was after with that band, they both sounded very much alike.
Where I started vs where I am:
First car ever: black 1984 Z28 I bought my senior year of HS about a month before graduation in '99. Owned for 3 years and cost me about $12k altogether after 1 blown engine (spun a bearing a month after I bought it) and 2 blown transmissions (trans shop boned us...
I have played an Ecstasy 101b a few times, and currently own a 3534 since mid 2021. The 3534 is a lot like a stripped down 101b, but the red channel has more gain - others say it's closer to the XTC Classic in that regard. I really do like the 3534, but I've been on the fence of trading it for...
Never had a chance to check these out until I saw one last weekend used at GC for $1k. Quite impressed with the tone considering the minimal control layout. These are super punchy and thick sounding! Had a lot more gain that I thought it would have to be honest. Had my kid jam on it through a...
I specifically put items on my watch list just to see what kind of offers I get from other vendors. It can be annoying for some, or a useful tool for others...
If there's a piece of gear I'm looking for, maybe there's a vendor I skipped over because of the price, but then I see an offer in my...
Years ago I theorized all these 80s guitarist's ears were shot by now and they don't know good tone anymore, so they either crank the gain (a la EVH), or neuter it (a la Lynch) because maybe they have tinnitus. And yeah, I haven't liked Lynch's current tone for most of the last decade. He traded...
I would also add a lot of Peavey solid state amps. I gigged with an XXL for a couple years until I got a XXX. The Bandit and Studio amps are also really good for just about anything.
Yeah I actually hooked that up a few weeks ago. Really opens up the options. Still not as uber high gain as it's predecessor Spider Valve series, but they can sound really good if you spend a little time with it. I wish it had some more on board effects options though, but it's very usable...
