You’re hearing the distorted tone through your daw and the clean DI coming through on the console app of the UA. Open up console and hit mute on the track/input you’re going through and you’ll be good to go.
Maybe, maybe not lol. I mostly play high gain metal and have found some low output stuff that works great. I’ve also put those same pickups in different guitars and didn’t like them as much because they didn’t match those guitars as well. I feel like sometimes (not always) hotter pickups are a...
Awesome! I had one just like that and definitely miss it. Yeah those necks are chunky, but still comfortable imo. Mine was somewhere between a ‘59 and ‘58 carve. I yanked the ‘57 classic too lol. It wasn’t terrible, just a bit flabby tuned down with some gain. Anyway, congrats on the killer axe.
This is what I find the most baffling with Metallica. Sonically speaking, they have no excuse for anything subpar, but they have had so many tonal missteps with various albums.
I'm not sure if he's the only employee or not, but it was always the same guy I spoke to and he talked like he ran the joint. It didn't really have a store front either, so it was definitely an online dealer when I dealt with them. In the section I was in they had a bunch of gear in their boxes...
I've bought from them a couple of times a few years ago. One time I met the dude on location when I lived in Maine to do a trade. He was a funny dude. He wasn't the best with contact back then either, but he came through in a reasonable time from what I recall.
That’s what I heard as well. The invective transformers are supposedly based on what they thought was the best example/sounding of the 5150/6505 transformers they tested. Could be a great sounding transformer for the head, but no doubt it’s influenced by cost saving.
A buddy of mine leant me his 421, and it was great with the 57. It totally made sense straight away as to why it’s a frequently combo. I’m going to add one at some point.
For something different, the telefunken m81 is another good one that blends well with the 57. It’s less aggressive than...
When I’m recording, I always have one going either via a click or a drum loop. I have also been breaking one out a little more regularly during warm up or when practicing something tricky.
Yeah if the Wizard doesn't fiddle with the lows then I'd also assume they color the tone differently.
The Phalanx is supposedly a part for part Zuul clone. At least that's what the builder told me when I reached out to him when they were first rolling out. I never played one myself, but I've...
That sounds very similar to what the two Zuuls I've had do. The Zuul also adds some detail and brightness, but it seems to be a combination of a slight increase in that area and a slight reduction in lows.
