I finally feel settled and satisfied to a point with my current 3 boost pedals.
Has anyone tried an Origin Effects boost? They are expensive but apparently some of the best you can buy.
I have a Friedman Buxom, Friedman Golden Pearl and Source Audio ZIO on my board. All 3 are very different...
That's what is in my Splawn 412 - Redbacks/V30s. So now I have two cabs with that mix, one 412 and one 212.
My Bogner 412 is also amazing sounding with Redbacks and Creamback M65s.
I am back to running a Redback and Mesa UK Vintage 30 in my Bogner 212OS and it sounds magnificent.
Not sure what to load into my State Craft diagonal 212.
I recently bought a bunch of boost pedals and decided I just don't use boosts and am sticking to my amps and my old tube screamer. Hands done one of the most versatile and great sounding boosts I've used in over 35 years. Looks mint to me. Barely used.
$150 shipped.
Anyone try this boast and have comments on it?
I was going to buy a TS style pedal or a pedal to provide saturation, push, maybe some mids, and tightening as needed. Curious as this looks really well thought out.
Thanks. I don't really use boosts for the high gain stuff except the Buxom and Zio to tighten some. That's about it.
This is more for classic rock, rock and grunge type stuff. For example, I love my Revv Green for rock rhythms but it nerds a boost or OD for my tastes, to get smooth, forgiving...
All Ecstacies do chugs. Heck, my Shiva will chug all day long. Most guys use way too much gain anyway.
The only XTC I would buy anyway is the new 50w 3534.
Honeatly, since getting my Revv, I've lost gas for amps. But, that will change!
Do you think the Low Cut modes makes mids more prominent? When I use the low cut, leads get easier and creamier to play.
It's great because it tightens lows but seems to make the feel better for leads.
Has anyone tried this or owns it?
My crunch tones on my amps I love for rhythm but not so much on leads.
Trying to smooth out the attack, add low mids and saturation without low end. My amps have large amounts of lows and the lows on my crunch channels are big and not right at all.
I use the...
Love this pedal.
I may get a second for my board, one off tightening and one for saturation, boosting and mid boosts.
First I am trying the Source Audio Zio. If that doesn't give me what I need, I'll get a second Buxom. Great pedal.
What is th footswirch like? With any amp I can't just have high gain metal. I need crunch too. Is there a crunch channel or mode available on the footswitch?
I hear what you are saying. My M65s sound very fat with big round lows.
That said, I find my Redbacks have big and tight lows. Plenty of low end and smooth highs. Surprisingly Redbacks and M65s blend well in a 412. Celestion recommended this and it's so far and warm. It is also still plenty...
