Fight For Your Right - Motley Crue (It's utter CRAP!)

I had fun playing that song in my first cover band, back in 1987. I won’t tarnish my memory of a cool song by listening to that crap.

    Your all time favorite axe?

I believe the story goes, that George made a guitar, in his garage, like this, and ESP asked if they could make a duplicate model to bring to market. George said “yes”, under the conditions that it was a small run, and it would be affordable. I recall it being ~330 units, and about $800 when...

    Your all time favorite axe?

Probably have to go with my LTD/Lynch “Burnt Tiger”. @Fiesta Red owned it, and he let me play it one day. I almost immediately told him that if he ever was going to sell it, let me have the first crack at it. There’s just something about it that works for me.

    Esp versus Esp Ltd?

The LTD guitars I have, the Lynch Kami 4, the Lynch Desert Eagle, and the Lynch Burnt Tiger, are all fantastic guitars. I have zero complaints about them in comparison to my ESP Lynch Sunburst Tiger. I have swapped out the anemic single coil neck pickup in the Kami 4, and put in a Duncan 1/4...

Why the "F" is everything backordered? Is alder and mahogany on the endangered species list??

I was going to order a white Charvel “Frenchy”(USA model) last year, from Sweatwater. They told me it would be a minimum of a year wait time. Fuuuuuuuuuck that.

    Jose tone in a pedal.

This one claims to get the Sykes ‘87 tone. However, I have one, and to my ears, it doesn’t. It’s a really nice sounding pedal though.

An album that’s hated by hard rock fans…

I absolutely do not hate “Never Mind The Bollocks”. A classic album. Chuck Berry on meth.

Were 80s tones as good as we remember them?

Yeah, I think some of them are. George Lynch’s tone on “Back For The Attack”. Doug Aldrich’s tone on Lion’s “Dangerous Attraction”. Jake E Lee’s tone on the first Badlands album. Akira Takasaki’s tone on “Live Loud Alive” and “Thunder In The East”. Just to name a few.

    Sammy Hagar: 5150

Satch’s tone is nice. It’s chunkier than the tone he’s most associated with.
