Friedman SS-100 Steve Stevens | VIDEO

Sounds so good. The SS keeps my head spinning back every time. I almost bought a PT-100 because of how Outshined sounded in your video, btw. Haha. So much clarity! I was afraid it wouldn't get heavy enough. Bought a Butterslax from a guy on here instead.

Any guys here still playing a stock 2203

Still love and regularly play a 2204, sometimes boosted! Simple and sounds great.

    NCD - Orange PPC212 Cabs....Meh

I have a few modern ones and while I do like them, I'm ready to move on from a couple of them. They make EVM's sound different in a way I don't like.

You've got me looking at these. I too believe you don't have to spend a ton to get the goods but here I am trying my best to get past thinking I need to try a JJ or Butterslax first.

    Greenbacks in Mesa OS 4x12?

I love greenbacks in everything I've tried so far. I had them in Orange PPC412's and I thought they sounded great! I prefer the G12EVH/black backs to standard though.

What's a good condition Peavey VTM 60 worth these days?

I love these! I have the Ultra 120 and the Ultra Plus and they're insanely good in my opinion! I got rid of my 5150 II and kept those, the VTM and 5150 original.

What's a good condition Peavey VTM 60 worth these days?

I love the VTM! My opinion is that you should keep it unless you really can't imagine ever playing it again. I got mine from a local guy about 3 or 4 years ago for $240. It looked fairly rough, sitting outside on a yard-sale table behind his house. Scratchy pots, needed cleaning, but had the...

    Eclipse, Butterslax or JJ?

Thanks all for the replies! I had the BE for about a year and would play it, enjoy it, switch to the JCM and prefer it every time. I keep telling myself to try a JJ or BS before I decide though. @Mikeyboyeee, I don't have enough posts to PM you, but you can message me about the BS if you...

    Eclipse, Butterslax or JJ?

Hey all, I am trying to decide between a few amps. I want something that does the modded Marshall thing with the punch and articulation of the JCM and more gain and low-end, or just something similar but awesome. I had a BE-100 Deluxe at a time and it was fantastic but it felt a little too...

    Anyone using the Fryette PS-100

I had a PS-100 for a couple of weeks. I ended up going with a Boss TAE and a KSR PA over it because I just liked both of them better, but that's not to say it wasn't nice! I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

    Celestion Redback/Vintage 30 blend.

I think the the H75's are definitely considered better for high gain tones, I just don't like the sound of the H75's personally so it's not much of a contest for me. I really do like the H30/V30 combo, but honestly, neither would be my first choice for high gain I guess. I was pretty surprised...

    Celestion Redback/Vintage 30 blend.

I agree, Redbacks are great! I've mixed them with M65's, H75's, V30'w, CV75's and EVM's and they're better with V30 types in my opinion but just great regardless. I didn't like the H75 at all. Tried over and over again. I haven't tried a CL80 to compare it though. V30/H30 is great, I don't...

    Peavey 5150 vs 5150II

I'm the opposite, I had both and preferred the original by quite a lot. Both are great, though I prefer the EVH 5153S to either these days.

What piece of gear has been a staple in your collection?

Of all the amps I've owned, from a Friedman Be-100 Deluxe to Rockerverbs and so on, the JCM 800 is the single amp I've never considered living without. Redbacks are now a part of the staple.

    NSD! Celestion Redback's! KILLER!

I love Redbacks. I've mixed them with CV75's, V30's, H75's, Man-O-War's and EVM's and they're great with all of them. Currently have them with EVM's and it's my favorite.
