Looking at combos for gigging again. This one looks pretty versatile but I have never played a Boogie in my life. What are you guys thoughts on the Lonestar series? Combo sound pretty good or should I conider a head and a seperate cab? ....

So after my last adventure with preamp tubes and my bogen vplexi, i replaced them all with shiney new ones. EH12ax7 in v1, c9 in v2, eh in v3 and life was good. Played the amp for maybe 30 mins, switched it off. Unplugged it from the wall and left it on the bench. Four or five days...

Looks like the band thing is going to happen for me soon. I need to go thru quite a few of my guitars and do setups, etc. Think im going to switch things down to 9's just to make life easy on myself. Thinking about maybe ernieball slinkies or fenders but not sure. Have used GHS Boomers...

Anyone have the scoop on these speakers? Just scored a custom oversized 2x12 that has them loaded in it. Only other speakers I have laying around to replace them with are Peavey XXX speakers, which are pretty good speakers..

I just retubed my bogen vplexi with winged c 34's and c9 and eh 12ax7's. When im using my PPIMV, I get this really smooth transition in volume when turning up, which is cool, but it seems that some of the volume is suddenly gone. The power tubes maybe have an hour to hour and a half on them...

I currently have a PPIMV installed in my vplexi bogen chassis, the popular one from Metroamp forums, and it sounds great but i've heard that using a 100k dual pot instead of the 250k will add a bit of gain to things. Has any tried this yet? If so what were your results? I haven't changed any...
