    Cattle Decapitation

Used to share that opinion on his guitar but it’s grown on me. Cardinal Instruments loaded with Suhr Aldrich’s I believe. Josh is a killer guitarist.

Metalverse - first AI metal band

That definitely reinforces that song writing will always win out over technicality. Also reinforces why I’m not a fan of Amon Amarth.

"If you boost a Mark you're a 'tard."

I boost my Mark III. I like the tone shaping I get out of the different OD’s. I could probably get the same tone out of the EQ.

had a few drinks, started recording Black album riffs

Sounds great. Good job with this.

You guys like Monuments (John Browne)?

Great technique and sense of dynamics in that genre. I’m also not a big fan of the music but admire his playing.

    Cattle Decapitation

Great band. Anthropocene is probably my favorite work of theirs. Very innovative within that realm. Very charismatic live. Bring back the plague!

W800 wow this is an 80’s machine "clip added pg 2"

Great clips. I was on the fence about getting an MC2 vs. a W800. Landed with the MC2 (got rid of my MTL in the process). Sounds like they cover a lot of the same ground to my dumb ears. Both exemplify the Wizard tone, though, IMO.

Anyone here using a UA Oxbox to record?

I've been using the Two Notes Torpedo Reload for a few years. Great for recording, re-amping, and attenuation. I've been curious about the Suhr but not sure if it would make a noticeable difference/improvement.

    Mark VII and JCM800 Comparison

Still on the ultimate expensive tone quest, but every time I hear a JCM800 (particularly in the mix), I realize it's classic for a reason.

I'm caving. Time to order a Larry.

Agreed. I'm 6 years into a Daemoness wait that I've written off--not worth it. I will say Wizard cabs have been taking longer. It sounds like BAD (who is making the cabs) is suffering supply chain issues. They are months late on a 2 week quoted lead time.

40 and grumpier than last year.

Wizard MTL MK2 VS Bogner Uberschall Original (full mix)

Great ideas/riffs. Slight edge towards the Wizard but they are both great. The bass sat better in the mix with the Wizard.

    SLO is kinda Fun

Tough to match the break-up in the mids on a SLO. Sounds great.

NGD - Gibson Les Paul Custom 1985!

Great score. I think you made a good call on that swap.

    NAD. Mezzabarba Trinity

Thanks, guys. Looking forward to mixing and matching with some of the other heads I have. I really recommend Righteous Guitars, too. Guys really spent time figuring what I played and what I was trying to do. Extremely knowledgeable bunch of gear heads. They mix and matched a few different...

    NAD. Mezzabarba Trinity

Spent some time with the very knowledgeable folks at Righteous Guitars and landed on the Mezzabarba Trinity. Channel 1 gets me great cleans and Plexi like pushed cleans. This was definitely surprising and what pushed me towards the Trinity over the MZero by a narrow margin. Channel 2 is my...

    Driftwood Purple Nightmare....What a disappointment

Bummer to hear. Really like my Purple Nightmare. It fills my 5150 itch. Great saturation. I’ve lent it to a producer friend who raved about it in the mix. Lot of options these days. I could see why it may not be everyone’s cup of tea.

Need Help With Picking An Attenuator

I haven’t done an extensive AB comparison but I’ve had luck with the Two Notes Reload (Captor X with some added features).
