Have you considered the Epiphone Les Paul prophecy? You can pick them up cheap on the used market and have the fishman fluence pickups. Never had a chance to try one but they seem to get good reviews.

I had both and would take the Charvel. The QC on the Charvel was much better. The Kramer was heavy as hell being all maple, sharp fret ends, cheap tuners, smaller frets(med jumbo) and the neck was thicker. You used to be able to get them for cheap, so pricewise compared to the charvel not a bad...

I'm thinking you just don't like the 81 and 60 pups. You should try and put the 57 and 66 in and see if that is the big difference. If you have the quick connect it shouldn't take but a few minutes to try.
