I still wish I had my old JMP-1. It sounded great through a Fryette 2:50:2 or whatever it's called. I also loved the way it sounded through the FX Return of a Mesa Mark IV. I wish I would have tried it with the 101b.
As japetus once said back during the glory days of HCAF, "We should all just get Line 6 PODs and run them through tube power amps." This was pre-AxeFx/Kemper/etc..
Also, I nearly sharted because lightning just struck less than a mile away!
I think I've had 2 Powerballs. It has been so long ago. They both sounded cool, but they squealed like pigs when I took them to practice. I'm glad I had a backup there.
Dave designed the clean channel on the Duel Series for Kyle Kurtz around 1996.
Guy Hedrick (Guytron Amps) designed the reverb circuit on the Electraverb Series.
I went with the Mercury O-100-JM. I'm not worried about the money. I found a few good samples between the Metro Heyboer and that Merc, and I liked what I heard from the Mercury a lot better. I also like the Mallory caps compared to the Sozo stuff.
I would build my own, but I don't have...
