The Cameron CCV amp model is MUCH better now. The CCV model in patch 2.0 and early sounded nothing like a CCV, but the 3.0 patch CCV model sound very good. Definitely has the cameron tone now, but the AxeFX2 is still lacking on the warmth and feel...but close.
Sounds good, may try that when I get some of those preamp tubes. I retubed with all the preamps tubes on mine with the Tung Sol's...mostly because that's all I had laying around when one of the preamp tubes failed recently.
Sounds fine with the tung sol's but always up for trying new tubes.
So it was a slow day at work and I decided to make some blank Front Panel sheets for my CCV so I keep have something to write down settings that I like. The CCV isn't like other amps I've had where I'd dial it in once and pretty much left everything the same except tweaking Presence and Treble...
If you don't use it for its amp and cabinet modeling it has a ton of different effect that you can use like Mixo mentioned. Digital / Anaog Delays, Phasers, Wahs, Compressors, Overdrives, Pitch shifters, Flangers, distortions, chorus.
I'd also recommend using a real guitar cab. I have an...
I'd get an AxeFX Ultra since there are a ton of these for sale right now, and you could get one pretty cheap. If a modeling unit is for you then you can consider upgrading to the AxeFX II or the next version in the future.
But bang for the buck, I think an Ultra is a good choice...especially...
Just curious about the settings in the PG Video. PG showed closeups of the amp on the right, which wasn't the amp that Mark was playing thru. Were they roughly the same settings?
I noticed that the gain1 and 2 were at roughly 3:00. I can't dial in a good sound with the two gains that high...
This question probably applies to all amplifiers...but anyway.
I have a 16ohm 2x12 and an 8ohm 2x12. Would it be possible to run both cabs in the CCV, would I plug the 16ohm cab into the 8ohm plug in the back of the amp, and the 8 ohm cab into the 4 ohm amp plug. Similar to what I'd do for a...
I really like how my JP6 plays and feels compared to my other guitars and its usually the guitar I go to first.
But recently I started playing one of my other guitars (PRS Cu24) and I noticed how much the gain went up. Partly because I believe the pickups on the PRS are a little hotter, but...
Holy crap! I don't think I've ever heard a JP6 neck referred to as a baseball bat neck :D Mine almost feels like my fingers and thumb are touching when I play my JP6.
Sometimes I get a little worried the neck will snap under the tension of the strings ;)
What I'm noticing with the AxeFX II that I have, is instead of trying to make patches of the amp sims that sound like their real counterpart, I'm making patches that sound like I want them to. Lately I've just been trying to get the best sounds out if it that I can, the axefx is missing some...
