    EVH 5150 III EL34 50w C137 Mod - Blue Channel Demo

Hmm, I just got one and yeah the blue channel is pretty dark. I think I'll try this mod and see what happens. I want to use the blue for more like classic rock. The clean is actually pretty clean and the red is almost too heavy, but it's good for solos and stuff. :checkthisout:

Anyone have UPS lose a package?

Yes. Waited all day for a TopHat amp. Finally looked at the UPS site once again around 7PM and it said delivered. Long story short; after getting the run around by UPS and no tracer allowed until 24 hours, some guy in some other town on some other road at some other address who can actually...

What Orange amp do you have?

I'm thinking the Retro 50 is giving me all the beef that I want in my sound Good build quality on this one ^ It's got a good vintage tone to it and seems to love pedals right in the front end (all I ever run is maybe an OD and a delay).

    I just bought an Axe-FX AX8 !!

Awesome! I'm glad you mentioned vocals because I wasn't sure if it was designed to include that as well. I've been using a Presonus preamp and then through a Kurzweil reverb for my vocals and it's hit or miss and could be better. I can't wait to try it out, I've been reading up through the...

    I just bought an Axe-FX AX8 !!

That's good. Bass and drums are always the hardest for me to get a good punchy mix on. I'm still old school though and record on an old crispy Alesis HD24. Someday I'll get up to speed and do some computer recording.

Ok, it's not a tube amp but the idea here is to get a cleaner tone for recording. You have to admit that micing an amp is sort of like black magic, especially in a crappy lath and plaster room where sound bounces around and all sorts of things rattle. I watched about 60 youtube videos on the...
