That's what I normally do, but often only with only one of the amps. By default to create the space I then tend to pan them L/R. If the amp tones are much different it can sound a bit lopsided if say the treblier/bitey one is left and the punchier/meatier one right, unless I do 2 runs of each...

Tube 1 is *normally* the one nearest the input jack on any sensible amp (e.g. my Diezel has the input jack on the opposite end and the tubes are numbered the opposite way from that Bogner pic)

Couldn't tell you truly, but if it gets too big and high-voltage tubes to "be proper" and all I'm guessing the price skyrockets, shipping/tax goes up with it, it's too big/awkward to fit/be easily powered on most peoples standard pedal board, and if it then ends up basically being the whole tube...
