These guys are well regarded for their Fender style builds. Probably a better option than anything actually made by Fender these days.

Also check out the Suhr Hombre. May be a little too Brown sounding though, but high quality Fender -inspired build with Trem...
On my local Buy and Sell page.
Only 10k !
It's the ultra-rare "Yikes" mod
It does come with a 295 owned by the guy from Rammstein, and a 4x12, but seriously....10K?

Good advice.
I'd go with the 35 watt plate dissipation number in the bias calculation as well.
My experience has been that most amps designed around a 6550 / KT88 power section are getting all the drive & distortion from the preamp.
I'm not sure anyone designs a KT88 / 6550 amp with the idea...
Beautiful build, and great playing as always
Amp sounds freakin' great!
Definitely something a little different from the "modded Marshall" thing, and covers a lot of ground. Awesome
GLWS!
Eh...Black brown yellow ...Black Brown Orange...
Easy mistake to make if you're just a middle aged house wife stuffing boards down in Milton Keynes for some spare change in 1982....
Wouldn't be the first time some fukked up values got stuck on a Marshall board
Time and / or heat could have...
Yeah I really liked the EVH as well.
I'd go with the EVH & a Suhr RL.
Anyone interested in load boxes and IR's should do some research on impedance curves.
I own the Suhr RL / IR.
The main thing for me was that the Suhr RL felt and responded EXACTLY like when my amps are connected to a 4x12...
I sincerely hope you are referring to the comment above your's about " suffering thru LaBrie just to hear Petrucci"
If you are referring to the vid posted by the OP.........
Garbage?
You can't be serious?
:doh::doh::doh:
That was great
Thanks for posting that, as I had never heard of these guys.
Gotta say though, as good as the guitar and bass player are, that fukking drummer just kills it !!!
You should be able to buy terminal strips anywhere you would purchase resistors and capacitors.
For example:
https://tubedepot.com/t/diy-central/terminal-strips
https://www.amplifiedparts.com/products/terminal-strip-3-lug-2nd-lug-common-horizontal
I would also recommend 1 watt or 2 watt 1 OHM...
I would suggest you do this:
1) Cut the traces for the Cathode grounds.
2) Solder in 2 x 1 OHM resistors
3) Measure voltage drop across resistors. Because the resistors are 1 OHM, mV = mA
Having the full B+ running through your meter is a recipe for disaster. You may not get a second...
Jesus, I don't know what to say.....
You can not measure current in parallel.
The meter has to be in series with the load to get a correct reading.
Or..
You measure a voltage drop, with your meter set to VOLTS, and use ohms law to calculate the current.
I'm not trying to be a dick, but if you...
I'm not exactly sure what you're measuring, but it ain't the bias.
In order to measure the bias correctly in a 22h, you have to cut traces and install 1 ohm resistors.
Then you measure voltage drop with your meter set to volts.
You can not measure current as shown in the pics.
The Homeskoolin' vids are some of the coolest shit to come out of the "Lock Down" era.
There's a whole series. Look 'em up.
Jim Brown was right....
Tom's a bad ass
One more thing.... In the Pete Thorn EVH deep dive vid, am I the only guy who had an "OH shit " moment when they dropped the NOS Sylvania 6CA7's into Pete's amp?
