I've played one, and am a huge Jake fan. I didn't think it was worth the money. Not that it's not a good guitar, just that it would be fairly easy to recreate one using Warmoth or similar quality parts. For $1200-1500 it is more attractive.
You could get a new veneer put on that headstock. It might be worthwhile, even if it costs $100-200 to do it (no idea what that runs).
I'd offer him $1000 for the guitar, all things considered.

So weak, man......anyone that thinks Yngwie has a pussy vibrato is just completely clueless. He also has several actual Ferraris, which were shown in Guitar Aficionado magazine.
Yeah, I wish he would try a little harder to play cleanly, or push himself, but it is what is. He's still a legend...
Are you talking about Mark at Nstuff Music, by any chance? He certainly can play, but he always does this pretentious meandering esoteric whispy jazzy noodling crap, while holding the guitar in an awkward manner with the headstock pointing at the ground. What he plays doesn't even usually make...
Love the Voyager and those Nunos!
I've picked up a lot of the guitars that I dreamed of as a kid, and they didn't really work for me now. I'm more into taking those designs, and using the specs that I prefer to make a modded custom version. It's sorta like the LP/Tremonti thing Squank...
