Depends on what you want?
If you need good quality sounding gain from a pedal, check out the following:
Weehbo plexdrive/jcm drive/ or hell drive
carl martin plexitone
Wampler Triple Wreck
Okko Dominator
Don't overestimate the amount of gain you need. Too many times I see people thinking they...
So apparently they are shipping out the new traditional pro soon. The guitar basically gets upgraded with all the neat stuff that was on the 2012 standard (save for the phase switch), gets a new 'super 57' pickup, and an alpine white model. I'll try and get a hands on with one of these soon and...
Yeah the Orange or a Rectifier series amp would suit you well for you're style. I can't help but feel that the Stiletto (which I own) and the Orange together would be a tad redundant? Both are el34 british flavored amps. You can pick up Rectifiers used off GC or musicgoround for between 9-1100...
It's been mostly
Queen
Thin Lizzy
Coheed and Cambria
Baroness
The Darkness (new record blows though)
The new stuff by Propagandhi is pretty sick (https://youtu.be/CPpxLecMkyg)
Been researching the AxeFX and found this clip. One of few that really excited me. Not really a BTBAM fan though.
Nor sure why the audio is so quiet, it wasn't before?

I've only played the Astroverb. But that thing was a lot of fun. If you're just looking for an extra amp to mess around with don't count it out. You can find those for like 6-700 used off GC and ebay. Total Steal.
Went down to a Battle of the bands in Orlando last week. 4 bands went on, each with a totally different sound and varying quality of gear.
First band had an amazing vocalist but the instruments were sloppy and their cheap gear made it so you couldn't really understand what was going on. The...
Have you tried the brand new traditional pro or the older pro models? I've played dozens of newer Gibson explorers and found them to be very hit or miss. Hell, I played an Epiphone a few months back that played circles around all of them. But the explorer trad pro I played, that thing had...
yeah, I had checked out stuff by CAE and also the RJM gizmo products. like you said it seems like overkill. So if I'm following: I should be running both the FX sends > A/B box 1 > pedals > A/B box 2 > both of the FX returns-- And then do the same thing with a single A/B box for the stuff out...
It's half and half. I'd love the info on how to make one. Im guessing itll take something different to work around the stuff in the loop? Thanks for your reply.
Let's say I've been running two stiletto ace combos live (one for backup). I've only made use of a delay and a tuner up until now. New material has me throwing on multiple delays, a harmony man, a wah, etc etc. and now im left wondering how i would quickly and appropriately switch my pedal board...
Fair enough-- most of the ones i found were on the GC used section or other sites such as musicgoround. Just wanted to make sure these weren't duds. The mark V combo I had was stellar but I have no experience with older Mesa products.
Is there a reason these things are so suspiciously cheap? I've seen a ton of them for the 500-700 price range. The heads, however, have fetched as much as 1200 making it more in the price point of other used rectifiers. Do the combos have reliability issues? And while we are on the subject, how...
Yeah it's ridiculously good -- and sort of breaking all my preconceptions of what an overdrive pedal can offer. You mean the Radial Plexitube? I wasn't aware they made a tube offering like that, that's nifty. Thanks for your reply!
Stumbled upon this video tonight. Mind is Melted. The beginning of the vid is him just playing the deluxe clean. He hits on the first stage of the carl martin and my jaw just dropped--great low gain plexi vibe. He continues on in the vid for a while adjusting the guitar volume and the level on...
Weird. It was a used amp. Perhaps it was the tubes or maybe the cab. I only played it at lower volumes with the matching 1x12 cab. I cranked it up with a 4x12. That could be the problem. I'll check it out again with another cab.
