I don't know but am pretty sure I've seen LED mods on the original series before. Hopefully someone will be along with a bit of experience on it. Good luck. 8)
Sure there's a difference between a very small operation and a large one when it comes to potentially running into issues and setbacks, but one thing shouldn't matter regarding it being a single person or an army if the person took the money: the person who took the money to produce the product...
Yeah, F that noise. And if a fair sum of money was put down to be waiting that long, I'd have demanded it back a long, long time ago and would be raising hell if I didn't get it.
Most all of the very negative talk about Camerons has to do with events that've transpired in the past with people getting outright ripped off rather than what the amps sound like. And I think most of the attacks on Brad came from those who previously posted here, though some others got some...
I agree his amps can be used for much more just as about any amp can, and I would agree some Camerons sound pretty mean. But I also think very few buy a Cameron to play anything more modern. Maybe I'm wrong, but see if you can find many who've bought Camerons for anything past 80's to early '90s...
From the perspective of someone very familiar with that forum, Zombie is correct; very few people over there care about '80s bands or tones. And the relatively very few who attacked Brad (besides the RTers who started it) either talked about a negative situation that happened on a transaction...
I don't think any setting is going to sound similar to using the boost. If that's the sound you like, there's nothing wrong with it. 8) And the friend's Peters amp probably sounds awesome and at its best without a boost but is a completely different amp.
There are some bands around that have rhythm playing with greater difficulty than many solos while others may have timing that makes it tough to pull off. These guys also have some nice technical soloing ability on top of that.

Yeah, I think trying another set of pickups is the way to go. I never had a combo but have played one and had a 5150 and currently have a 6506+ head, and they don't have any worse/uncontrollable feedback than any other high gain amp I've owned, though like the Laney VH100R they do have some...
Maybe I'm misreading the first part of the post, but it seems a bit strange to me. If I raised a kid and bought the kid, say, a bike, obtaining the bike wouldn't be the sole goal. And there would be rules to go along with the bike just as there would be at least some rules that would go along...
The original argument seems to be that those amps are trash compared to the more expensive ones. :) I can agree there are surely notable differences playing each amp solo in a room. But, for metal music, what about where the aforementioned amps, the 5150 and Recto, have shined -- in a mix? I...
I dislike that analogy; McDonalds is also trashy junk food. The gear you mentioned has mass appeal because it's not only affordable but does a great job. Maybe some much more expensive amps will sound (subjectively) better when played solo, but will they sound much better in a mix? Maybe. I'd...
Some of the best recorded metal tones I've ever heard have been recorded with setups such as a JMP or for more modern gain 5150's or Dual Recs with or without a boost.
