One of my buddies is getting the 100 watts rackmount version soon, can't wait to try it. Covid is complicating things but hope we can get together and compare amps again soon.
Hey Dave, still rocking your Rev 2? I’m currently using the Thelema in the loop with mine. Don’t really need it at low to moderate volume, but when i crank my amp, it’s my gate of choice now.
I don’t mind a little hiss either and was always disappointed with gates in loops. That’s why i choose...
Yes, i have the Key and Gate. Very transparent, not the quickest responding gate but offers great sustain.
For the Thelema, i bought it new there:

I got the Thelema recently and didn't liked it too much in front of my amps, like i usually use my gates. It's messes with the signal a bit, it gets kind of blurry in the lows with my stuff. I tried it in the loop like it should be used and i love it.
I've never tried the Cockblocker so i can't...
We did the test, older and new cabs at the same time in the same amp. We couldn't hear the new one that well, the older 280 watt was definitely louder.
If i play really loud (band volume), it's what i need to do also. Z(1) takes care of feedbacks in front & Z(2) takes care of hiss in loop

Not necessarily, Celestion moved to China and continued to produce the speakers with the Ipswitch, England sticker on them for a while. My guess is left over stickers already on the magnets.
You should have "made in UK" or "50" for China, printed on a white sticker.
I usually set my gate in front of my amps cause i don't like their loop. Boost, gate into the amp.
Choice of noise gate will depend on the amp and applications.
Yes, i had the Endless Blockade. Had more options but was messing with my signal a bit more than the others. Preferred the Zuul, Phalanx and The Key & Gate for that reason.
The Key and Gate respond a bit differently, a bit smoother on the decay if you will. I can say it's the only gate if set...
I would say if you want it more aggressive or a bit quicker in response go with Zuul or Phalanx. If you want absolute transparency and want longer sustain notes go with key and the gate. I have both and love them equally for what they are.
Yep, that one is nice also. Jordan is great to deal with. To be honest i didn't saw much difference between the Zuul and Phalanx beside the pass-thru, so i sold the Phalanx. Too many gates, had to thin the herd at some point.
The Endless Blockade sucks the tone a bit more compared to the Zuul but will let you control the decay a bit better. I had them all at some point, the best for me now is The Key And Gate from Lichtlaerm Audio. It's like the Zuul but with a pass thru and envelope filter instead of a preset chip...
Yep! Most builders in the 80's and early 90's were tweaking their amps running with them, because it was the cheapest and most reliable tubes around back then. So chances are that if you got amps made in that time frame, they will sound as they were intended. If it's what you want of course.
