Thanks guys. Obviously lots of varied opinions! I keep thinking maybe I should move this an someday acquire a 20th anniversary on the used market.
The XTC is not an amp that sounds great with all knobs at noon and switches in random places. I needed to spend some quality time with this to...
I love it. M75 to me is just the perfect speaker. There is none of that ear fatigue you get with v30s after a while at high volume. The Suhr 2x12 is a great cab too. The only cab that I sounded ever so slightly better was a Bogner OS 2x12 with m75s.
Another vote for wampler faux analog echo. Carbon copy is great too but the repeats are a bit dark. That's a nice sound but the wampler has a tone control the let's you determine how dark or bright you want the repeats to be. Both sound great but I like the flexibility of the wampler.
Hey guys,
My best friend (Rockstarnick) and his dad (http://www.pierrocustomguitars.com/) have recently started building guitars in the last few years. I checked out one of their Esquire builds and thought it was great. Since I had been wanting a Carbionita but not wanting to drop $3000 on a...
Love Paisley. His tone, playing, the fact that he doesn't take himself so seriously. His book is an awesome easy read if anyone is interested in how he became the player he is. Seems like a super nice guy too.
He brings the goods live and on records. What more can you say? He's one of the...
Ordered one today. Will be here Tuesday. Super psyched. Interested to see how it holds up against my PT.
Whats the problem with the shared EQ? It was never an issue for me with my SLO and I generally don't find it to be a big issue with well voiced amps.
Santana is one of those players I just dont "get". It just sounds like sloppy, nonsense to me. I agree with those to say you can clearly identify his playing. But when I do that, I usually know right away to turn it off :) The last thing I saw was him and Gavin Rosdale mashing their way...
Flying in Thursday afternoon and out on Sunday morning. Will be hanging with RockStarNick, aeroic, and jmgman for sure! Hope to see you again Brad and the rest of the crew!
Quite honestly, the only thing the amp needs is a headshell redesign. Like others have said, move the controls to the front and call it a day. The amp sounds amazing as is. I wouldnt want any changes to the tone from what Im already getting. Almost a year later and the honeymoon continues...
I didnt like it either. I much prefer the Barber Dirty Bomb. I tried it in front of both my PT100 and Badger 18 and I thought it sounded thin and harsh compared to both the Digitech Hardwire and the Dirty Bomb.

Thinking Aldrich, but are they too hot?
I realize its a bolt on and not a LP, but its the closest I have to an LP and I want it to sound as much like one as possible.
