Hughes & Kettner Access, Marshall JMP-1, Rockton Pirahna or the ADA MP-1 for the preamp. For effects I'd suggest the G-Major 2 or keep the GSP1101 and use it for effects only.
That guitar is gorgrous and I'd keep it if it played well. That being said, I have 3 purple guitars (2 Wolfgangs and an Axis) and dig purple, so I may be biased!!
I have several of each and you can't go wrong with either one. It really comes down to personal preference. My tastes slightly favor the Wolfs, but it's close and I love the Axis' also!
I just picked up a Street Rod combo and LOVE it! Huge sounding and sounds like my Quick Rod head. Can't believe how big sounding that 112 combo is. Mine has a Creamback in it and it sounds killer. Highly recommended.
Originally the 5150 III shipped with Sovtek 6L6WXTs in the power section and a mix of Sovtek (WC and LPS) and EH preamp tubes, before switching to all JJs. Personally, I think the amp sounds much better (for what I like) with the orginal Sovtek/EH combination. Also, every 5150 III I've tried...
Doug is currently playing in the Vegas show Raiding the Rock Vault. Not sure if that's why he left WS or not, but it may give him a steady gig with no travel that may be appealing with a family at home.
I previously used the original G Major and had issues (encoders and freezing). I switched to the GM2 several years ago and it's been rock solid for me. Mine has had zero issues and I gig regularly with it.
