If your running the amp clean I doubt your going hear a huge difference with a 12AT7.
Dutch made Amperex 12AX7 sound glassy and clean to me. That I expect to make a voice difference.
How it would react in a Rebel 20 hard to say. I had a Rebel 20. Not bad for what it is. I gave it to a friend...
i have a early Deliverance 120. I have played on a few D60.
Deliverance has more girth. It's like a bulldozer. Intense punch. A big authoritative voice. A mix of Hiwatt and JCM 800 voice that can do more gain. But really all Fryette.
The Sig X it's much easier to control the volume. Much more...
Definitely let us know what you think about coming back to the Sig X.
Live its like having a six channel amp with the boost on each channel. The boost on the Clean is useful at drum set volumes or turn it on to get vintage crunch. I spend most my time on the Rhythm channel. The fuller bass...
It's similar to how some here view TGP or they just moved on.
I was off RT most of the time for years. I only came back because mailman asked me.
If you look there is maybe 50 regulars here. Then maybe a other 100 that look around occasionally. Very ruff numbers.
TGP has thousands of users...
A few are dead. Most of them can be found on the TGP or Facebook.
I'm in contact with a few thousand musicians on Facebook. Most of the people no longer here I see there.
I had some friends that worked at Gibson when I lived in Michigan. I had the second prototype of this model about a year before they were made public. White
Easy the best guitar I have ever owned. Extremely percussive.
The one I have now I think was made in 1995. This one is the most resonant...
I tried the Hot Mod in the Triple G. You can definitely get more gain and a tighter sound.
It takes 5 minutes to install and remove.
I didn't keep it because the effects on the clean channel and point if breakup sounds. I play a lot of funk and clean sounds.
I do often use a overdrive with...
I own one of the last Triple G made. I wouldn't get it modified. If I wanted it tighter I would use a overdrive. It doesn't need one.
As mentioned above try it and see if you feel it needs to be modified.
Unlike the Dual the Triple had the same transformers pretty much since the beginning.
There is so many variables between different rigs and players it is not exactly surprising individuals have very different experiences.
I prefer modern gear. But seem to waste a lot of time trying get vintage sounds out of it.
