SOT: Shipping own guitars from Europe to USA

Long-time no post, sadly due to some struggles in personal life and a lack of enthusiasm. Anyway, I am back now and ready to rock. I've been living in Italy for the past years and will be moving to the US soon. I'd like to bring with me my two beautiful guitars – a Suhr Reb Beach and a Gibson...

Flubby low notes on a 1960A?

UPDATE: I checked over the cab again and discovered that the centre brace had some travel in it – the screws were tight but it could wobble slightly. The brace must have come lose when I moved it. I tightened that up and put some foam on the brace for a better fit (thanks dogula!). Cranked up...

Flubby low notes on a 1960A?

Fired up my 1980s 1960A/w GT-75s for the first time in about a year. Sounds great in the mid/high registers but some low notes sound a bit flubby/farty when pushed. Running a THD univalve at reasonable volume. The cab itself is in great condition. I took the back off and the speakers look like...

    Dorm amp?! Gotta downsize!

I would probably suggest a solid state to, depends on how appreciative your neighbours are of your playing though! If you must go value, maybe a THD univalve + a small cab? Can swap out the tubes and tweak for days. I love mine...

    Nicest Guy in Music

Bill Steer from Carcass/Firebird talked to me before and after a gig, for about 30minutes each time. Real cool, down to earth guy. Shawn Drover from Megadeth, meet after a show introduced me to the band, had a good long talk to him too. Vinnie Moore, as above

need some help on old 80's kramer guitar......

I have a fixed bridge, neck-thru music yo Kramer, plays amazing for $200. Sounds great, plays like butter. I even like the Quad-rail in the bridge. Had to swap out the neck pickup though, put a SD Jazz in there. Dont write it off, at least go try it!

Curt!! an Interesting thing about the Le Tekro trick

Hey, I cant find the beginning of this. Is "the trick" using a BF-2 with cranked manual to replicated a parametric eq/cracked wah sound? Clip sounds great by the way, but then all yours do!

    Flying V Fever

Love that perspex one! Im assuming its a Gibson - custom shop? Ive never really properly played a Gibby V, does it give the same kinda tone as the explorer? Is the neck shape the same?

    Pro Series Moderns

Sounds Great Music have one, an M2 in Ice Blue. It is priced more than their metallic finish standards? Pricing mistake?

Any of you guys into Formula 1?

Yeah, big Alonso fan too, he is probably the best driver in the field. If the Renault is competitive I can see him running away with the title.

Name some lesser know instrumental guitar rock/metal albums

Anyone have Glenn Tiptons' solo album? Always thought that could be a bit of a dark horse?

Any of you guys into Formula 1?

Hells yeah. Hoping Massa can take the title this year. Or Vettel if the RB5 has the legs. Glad we are keeping the current points system too. That was close.

    Dan Lawrence vs. Mike Learn

Lawrence for me too. They are both extremely talented, but Learn's stuff seem a bit 'over the top' for my tastes.
