Oh yeah it will work well with an amp through the return. Not sure how it would sound through modern recording equipment? I never ran mine direct. I can't imagine it would be bad! Do it!

Its capable of a lot of interesting tones. You can't fully turn off the noise gate though. I had one for about 5 years and gigged with it. It has been called "the poor mans triaxis" Its okay. I kept the triaxis though haha For 200€ I'd buy it. I paid $89 on ebay back in 1998 from daddy's...
