I would still go for a 2 CH Triple, either F or G as they're natively tighter than the duals and call it a day. I'd still like to get another and keep it stock to go along with my Rev C modded one.
Man, I can't get over how well this sounds and plays, top notch build quality!
It's been a decade since I've purchased a new guitar, feels inspiring to play again.
I would do it tbh, you can hear the difference in clips but it's more apparent in the room and at volume.
I did it some years back and can never go back to the stock config, it just rips! :D
Right, the LDR's still exhibit enough resistance to affect the tone, I forgot how much though since I lost all my notes in an HDD crash.
I could never go back to the stock configuration   :D
I think what Mesa would do is similar to what I linked, I summarized the thread that was on the boogie board and here as well
Definetly wasn't the coupling caps, played with the values and it made the amp super thin, lots of trial and error but it was all worth it, thanks to the other forumites...
Hell yeah, congrats on a hell of a purchase!
I'm content with my Triple modded to Rev C specs but would like the black/chrome look as it looks metal as fuck!
As far as the recto goes, I've kept this combo in my 2 ch triple for the past 4 years after rolling 12AX7's furiously due to it's overall aggressiveness, have not found a better combo without going NOS.
Also I believe all current Mesa 12AX7's are JJ's, although in the past I came across...
Give the TAD-6L6GC-STR a shot, these sound like they were made for a Recto.
