I saw Slayer on the RIB tour in 86 at a club in SF called the Stone which is sadly long gone. Man what a crazy show , bodies were flying everywhere. I remember the crowd chanting Piece By Piece but the band didn't play it , Tom said that song required an orchestra.

Holy shit! You saw Slayer at the Stone?!??!!!!?!!! My band played there in '92 opening up for Kaos - that was not a big club! In my mind I see it packed wall to wall and one gigantic pit. It must've been awesome!

It was a great time for sure. Metallica wasn`t exactly huge yet and Hetfield and Hammet were there in the audience for a little bit and they were pretty much unbothered.

Nothing is better then seeing "the pit" start up at a Slayer show.
Like watching a Tornado in full force.

I have been in that pit MANY times

The first pit I ever went in was the Ramones in 1989 and it was actually a pretty friendly pit , people were helping those up who had fallen down etc. The Slayer pit in 1991 on the Clash Of Titans tour was another story , there was nothing friendly about that pit. I`m not very tall but I had some muscle but that didn't help me from getting busted between my mouth and nose and the tank top I was wearing got ripped so I pretty much had to go by a shirt at the venue cause I wasn`t gonna wear a tank top with half my chest showing for the rest of the night . That was the last pit I ever went in and pretty much the last Metal/Thrash show I ever went to

Love south of heaven and God hates us all second. Every song on god is fucking brutal.!!

This! God Hates Us All was so fucking angry!

Sound quality is decent at best but this is part of the 86 show at the Stone in SF

I had an uncle give me Reign in Blood on lp and that was it. Changed my life. I was drawn to it like moths to light. I loved all Slayer but then Divine Intervention came out and Bostaphs drumming blew my mind (I was still a drummer and hadn't started on guitar yet). Everything since the God hates album has been off my radar. I love the classic Slayer, not the current.
