I like CNC. It's consistent... I value consistency over "hand-crafted" any day of the week.
Exactly, you don't have to like the Lithiums. I happen to like them, but the next guitar I order (yes! #3) will have something different.
Yeah the resale blows. To be fair, a lot of the ones I see for...
Oy... These comments. I have 2. A Vader VM7 and a DCM7. They flat-out rock. My other guitars have been collecting dust. They're not dead-sounding, quite the opposite in-fact. The neck profile is very comfortable and both guitars are super fast-playing. PM me if you want to more info.
I used Logic for years. Prior to that I used Cubase on both Mac and Windows. Cubase definitely felt clunkier on Mac.
Pro-Tools is the fastest. There's other things I don't feel like getting into because I'll get told "They're all the same"
All of the DAW's work in a similar fashion. They're all really really deep, but it's easy to get started. Pro-Tools is no different in that regard.
A lot of the "Mastery" comes from just recording and mixing experience regardless of the DAW used.
Seems like folks are posting it in the thread. Here's mine:

I've used a PC for years. Switched to Mac about 4 years ago. Haven't looked back.
That said, there's nothing wrong with PC.
If you're going with PC, Cubase is great. I hear good things about Studio One.
As for interfaces, they're all good at this point. Anything in the 200-500 range will get...
I wasn't sure about the Lithiums, but I really like them. I was actually surprised how good they sounded to me. But they're not for everyone. They're very clear and articulate so some may find them sort of sterile or bright or something. I dig them.
I got one about 6 months ago. A VM7. It's flawless and I haven't put it down in the time I've had it. My other guitars are gathering dust at the moment. I ordered a DCM7 a few weeks ago.
Yeah it's not the easiest thing to capture guitars. It's taken me a really long time to find what works for me. You actually don't need that much. But I would HIGHLY recommend a good interface. I know people say "they're all the same" except they're not. After years of struggling with <$500...
I have an Archon and an old DR. They're very different. The Archon is much tighter and easier to dial in. You can use a boost with it, but it's not as necessary as it is with a DR.
No idea how it fairs against the JP-2C.
Someone told me the Archon is very similar to the Diezel VH4's channel 3.
NICE!! The stock profiles it comes with are not that great. I ended up making my own because I wasn't satisfied with what was out there (including most commercial profiles I've tried). There are some pretty good free ones nowadays on Rig Exchange.
GrooveHT was kind enough to send me his old gen 1 Axe FX Standard to mess with. Yes I know the Gen 2 is a lot better and comparing it to my Kemper is not exactly a fair comparison but either way, here are my initial impressions:
It's really nice. Some stuff is a bit better than the kemper...
