I LOVE the pseudo 5th channel/rear overdrive section direct into the power amp tones. I only used Lead II for a lead tone and I found it pretty easy to dial in. I’m the tweak each channel to the spot that speaks to me type and after it’s set, I only adjust the volumes. I don’t adjust the gains...
Mesa Mark IV twice, AxeFX II twice and Brunnetti 059 twice. Have none of these now. It’s going to happen with an Engl Special Edition too but, I’m going to keep the next one I get.
59/09 pickups are great for heavier tones. M pickups as well but your not going to find those. See if you can find a
ANY 59/09 equipped PRS model. They’re all good. Try and find a stripped 58 (regardless of the pickups). It’s a single cut and you can find some in the under $2k range as well as...
Worth $300? Absolutely! But whether it is your cup of tea or not is a different story. I owned one for a couple of months maybe 9 months after the came out. Used it for rehearsals and a gig or two. It needed volume to sound good but, it could be made to sound good. On board effects were a bonus.
Love Bogner but, too HEAVY. Sold mine and replaced with DV Mark 4X12’s (only 50 pounds!). I’d go EVH from your 3 choices as they’re about a dozen pounds lighter than Bogners and sound just as good but different.
I have a USA Guthrie Govan and a MIM DK24 2PT. I don’t think quality is lacking in the MIM models.
In fact I have no problems recommending them. Much prefer the pickups in the GG but the neck feel is just as rad on the DK24.
With me, my first Charvel was an MIJ Fusion Deluxe. These newer...
Chad... What’s up! Love your vids as always. I’ve fallen off the map with videos. My most recent subscriber sent me a message asking for new videos. Thinking about obliging ;)
Please post a pic of your Bulldog. For whatever reasons I didn’t gel with any that I’ve touched but, I like how they look.
I actually won a Guitar Center contest once. Was 2nd or 3rd prize. Got an Egnater Tweaker 44 head and 2 Egnater 1x12 cabinets shipped to my local store. Tweakers were cool but, not necessarily what I was looking for (grand prize was an Armageddon full stack for reference) so I traded for an EVH...
Big king diamond fan here. I personally think some of the best metal riffs ever can be found on his various CDs. I am contemplating going to his Brooklyn show this Thursday by myself I’ve never seen him live and would love to.
