    Cameron modded Marshall

I listened in my car and the tone wasn't my thing. How do you have it miked up? I'm not trying to be mean, it just didn't have any character to me beyond a buzzsaw sound. I think guitars can sound good both in a mix and isolated. It's not one or the other. But a good song doesn't need very...

NGD x2 - Love me some ESP Eclipse

Congrats! I like the Eclipse a lot. My perfect LP has become a Gibson-type refretted with huge frets. But the Eclipses come with those stock, which is great.

Travel rig ideas? : Bluguitar Iridium, Kotzen Fly Rig, or Friedman IR-D with a pedal board amp ?

I don't think this allows you to take profiles of your own amp, which maybe the OP wants to do if he really likes the sounds of his tube heads. fwiw I could not personally make a Kemper profile that sounded right. There was always some stuffy/nasal midrange that I couldn't figure out how to...

If I like LP Standards, will a Classic disappoint?

I forgot about the ABR. I had an early 2000s Classic that really was a nice guitar. Loved it but sold it when I ended up stacked with Historic Reissues. But the Classic was just as nice a guitar and the thin neck was really cool.

If I like LP Standards, will a Classic disappoint?

Early classics (before 2007ish) were essentially a Standard with a thinner neck, different inlay, and hotter pickups. Since then, the Classics have become hollowed out (modern weight relief) while the Standards have become non-relieved.

Travel rig ideas? : Bluguitar Iridium, Kotzen Fly Rig, or Friedman IR-D with a pedal board amp ?

I like the Nano Cortex, especially if you own tube amps you like. Just capture them and use whatever power section you wanted. Load up an IR (or capture with a miked up cabinet) and you can use headphones on the road etc.

    Seeking V30’s & Redbacks 16 Ohms

I think I have two of the Marshall versions from the early 90s and a quad of normal ones from '91 (one was reconed by Scumback). All 16 ohm. If either of those interests you, just let me know.

    82 JCM 800, 100% original....mod? or not?

fwiw rather than modding or using a power station for an FX loop, I've taken to using a profile of stock JMPs (after the Kemper and QC, I settled on the Nano). I run the profiler into a power amp and cab and can easily add FX after the profiler. I took profiles of various boost and double...

    Mesa Boogie Power Amps 2:100 / 2:90

I think that's right for modern mode. In the Recto in red modern, there's not a true presence control, just a high cut, which might be located in the preamp rather than power amp.

    Cases and fret wear......

It's not necessarily going to wear just sitting in the case. But the metal to metal contact can cause corrosion, and a significant joint can press the strings in to cause a dent. If it comes in and out often and you don't drop it etc, then sure, not really a thing to worry about. But it's easy...

How much of the pot shaft should poke through the top of a Les Paul?

I think generally long shaft pots are recommended for USA LPs and short shaft for historic LPs. Beyond that, I think you just adjust to your preference.

Damn I love that Warlock. 16 year old me wanted one of those so bad, and I still like it haha

    82 JCM 800, 100% original....mod? or not?

I typically use a JMP 2204 into Marshall 4x12s but probably my favorite amp ever is a JMP 2104 combo with blackback G12Ms. Is sounds huge and snarling.

    Traynor Bassmaster mods

I had a Bogner modded Traynor that I think was a Bassmaster. Was converted to gain/master volume with some switches. So seems like it can be converted over to something like a 2204 and then further modded from there.

John Mayer may have never thrown a baseball before this

My son plays youth baseball and moved to the fullsized field a year or so ago. 60 feet is a long way to throw. I'm not the coach and I don't like throwing to other people's kids in case I hit them (spoiler, it happens haha), and I can say that most of the adults I've run across cannot throw a...

    So I bought a Tonex

I had a QC and switched to a Nano. Love the Nano. The iPhone app and cloud work well. If you're just making and using your own captures (like me), then there's not much to do in the app other than assign footswitches and set levels among the four switchable presets. Once it's set up, you don't...

That was perfectly fine. McGregor's pitch was much worse.
