If you're going direct I'd suggest something with active pickups. You'll have a better control of the sounds you're getting. Look at the higher end Ibanez soundgear SRX basses with two pickups. Lots of tones and slim necks that setup low for easy action. Classic basses like ricks and fenders...

I figured the Bassman as well, and tried a few 60's heads out recently.... not even close. Not enough highs and upper mids available.

I already have a THD and have not used it for direct in off a tube amp though. I'll get to try it this afternoon, and already downloaded some cab simulators. It would be cool for once if I didn't have to buy a new piece of gear to do what I want to do.

:rock: That would be money well spent. The only downside is you would end up using it for everything else. In a way I kind of see the PC to Mac debate as a similar debate to Analog Pre or Axe-FX. I bought a Mac to prove a friend wrong.... I lost that argument. Haven't had a PC in 5 years.

He did a couple of Kustom amps... triple cross and the coupe. I think it will be a long wait for anything that good again.
