best Gibson Les Paul for thrash and modern metal that shreds

Les Paul guitars are great for studio recording work while seated and playing then. Fender Strats and other superstrats are perfect for live standing playing.

best Gibson Les Paul for thrash and modern metal that shreds

I love ebony fretboard Les Paul guitars with hot pickups and good neck for playing fast solos and great for chugging.

best Gibson Les Paul for thrash and modern metal that shreds

Agree so far. I wish Gibson would bring back the custom shop model of the AJ guitar that would be a dream to play same axe as the Tool Axe Master! Get a Diezel VH4 to blend with my Uberschall and maybe a Dual Rec as well then can play Tool and Korn inspired riffs for days!

best Gibson Les Paul for thrash and modern metal that shreds

I am leaning toward the AJ Les Paul Standard but need to play one first. Dream guitar for metal would be an ESP custom shredder guitar though.

best Gibson Les Paul for thrash and modern metal that shreds

Agree for shred solos my Jackson CS Soloist with Floyd Rose slays but for chest pumping hard rhythm work the Les Paul with hot pickups and high gain amp are wonderful! I like the AJ LP Standard will look at that. Has some cool pickups and setup.

best Gibson Les Paul for thrash and modern metal that shreds

I need to visit a high end guitar store and try out the various Gibson LP models to determine best fit. So far the artist signature LP standard guitars seem like right path and way less than a custom shop. That would let me get a couple other guitars like a 1970 reissue Flying V and nice Telecaster.

best Gibson Les Paul for thrash and modern metal that shreds

Well I played the new Slash signature LP guitar recently and really enjoyed the neck and feel to play rhythm and lead rock guitar. If I found a Les Paul that had hotter pickups and similar neck that would do metal.

best Gibson Les Paul for thrash and modern metal that shreds

Ah yeah the Axxess model with a Floyd Rose right? Would be great as whammy bar dive bar are used a lot in metal. I am open to a custom Les Paul as well. That and a 1970 reissue Flying V.

best Gibson Les Paul for thrash and modern metal that shreds

Looking at getting a Gibson Les Paul that can play both modern metal and thrash metal. What Gibson USA Les Paul models would be best? Looking at Adam Jones Les Paul Standard, Kirk Hammett Les Paul Greeney ( the least expensive model) and others but hard to pick.

Recommend a high gain amp with decent clean channel to replace Uberschall

Cool well think that I am leaning toward ENGL Savage or Diezel Herbert at this point. Expensive amps but selling off some unused gear should fund it along with a new pointy guitar hehe.

Recommend a high gain amp with decent clean channel to replace Uberschall

the 5k Diezel price tag however. I am actually looking at the Friedman JEL 20 watt amp. Less expensive and leaves money for a Fractal Axe Fx. Also want a 1970 reissue of Gibson Flying V.

Recommend a high gain amp with decent clean channel to replace Uberschall

I need to visit a decent high end guitar shop that has these amps not buying one without playing through one first.

Recommend a high gain amp with decent clean channel to replace Uberschall

So I am selling my Bogner Uberschall and looking for a new high gain amp that has a decent clean channel and player recording features. What amps would you recommend and why? My current setup once I sell the Bogner Uberschall will be Mesa Boogie Mark V and Mezzabarba MZero. I plan to keep these...

Wizard vs Mezzabarba MZero and Bogner Uberschall

Cool now if only Rick would respond to my email questions! Anyways how would you compare Wizard MTL to KSR Juno amp? I am looking at one of these two amps as my next one to complement my MZero and Uberschall.

Wizard vs Mezzabarba MZero and Bogner Uberschall

So I play mostly classic and thrash metal music. Have a Mezzabarba MZero and Bogner Uberschall which are great amps. How do Wizard amps respond and sound compared to these amps? Trying to gauge if it would suit my style as I like responsive tight amps that have lots of wall of sound for this...

    Thoughts on the tube situation

My tube amps are fairly new and I do not play hours daily so not worried for now. Worst case, have my HX Stomp modeler to use for practice and jams. That said, I probably will not buy any more expensive tube amps moving forward. Getting a Fractal Axe FX III for recording to DAW is my plan in the...

    Mezzabarba MZero review

They are super awesome! I took a gamble buying mine but so far my favorite amp that I have played. It looks dead sexy and plays like a dream. Best solo metal rock amp ever. I like using it for riffs and then use Bogner Uberschall for rhythm a great combo.
