I’m pretty happy with the helix and fryette power station, sold all my amps and don’t regret it. To me, the tech is already there

Instrument cable from Helix L/mono output into fryette PS2 line in, then spkr out of ps2 into my cab. I don’t use IRs or cab blocks because I like the sound of the Mesa enough. Personally I don’t mind lugging a cab around, the helix and ps2 fit in my backpack easily.

Super happy with my helix, I ran it for a while with the Duncan power stage 170 powering it though my Mesa 4x12, had more volume than I ever needed for live. Recently switched out the power stage for the fryette ps2 which I could not be happier with.

I second the Duncan power stage 170, powerful EQ and more volume than you will need *edit* just now seeing where you have a 60 watt speaker, guess this one isn’t for you

Gigged with an Ibanez tone blaster head and cab for years and loved it. Currently using a duncan powerstage solid state pedal to power my helix through a mesa 4x12 and it's an amazing piece of gear.

Mine came with EL34’s and I feel no need to switch to 6l6. Huge bottom end, high end cuts very nicely but doesn’t sound ice picky. I run it in 45w mode on variac power for band practice, I play it very loud lol
